Well my friend John that I go down to Lake Shelbyville called yesterday and the Crappie are hitting .  ~c~ ~c~ The  Big Females haven't moved in yet but he caught his limit (10) in less than an hour. He just called and said it only took him 1/2 hour today.  ~bb He caught about 80 fish altogether most around 10 to 11". If the weather stays warm and they don't get any gully washers in two weeks when I get there them bigger females should be up there along the banks doing their thing.  ~c~ ~c~ can't wait. 8) I will post my reports here and after we catch our Crappie limits we will be doing some Bass fishing and them reports will be in the Illinois section. ;)

A guide here who posts on some other sites I frequent has started posting pics of some nice ones his clients have been catching. He only fishes the Potomac River & uses the spider rigging technique with live baits. Some of them he's posted pics of are in the 12" to 15" range which is a darn good Crappie up here! It's that time of season for sure!  ~gf

Nothing wrong with catching them Big Bream. When I lived in Georgia use to fish for them and them Big Shell Crackers. When the Catalpa worms showed up on the Catalpa trees we would fill a paper bag up with the worms and a few leaves and head to the farm ponds to catch some of them Bream and shell crackers.

My Grandad and i used to use Catalpa worms when I was a kid, and would slay them in Indy.  Would love to get a couple of trees here at the house.

Caught these a few weeks ago on the new moon on Big O  Im sure they are still going strong, and the Red Ear are gonna be ON right now also.

Ok Donald I figured out how to get the pictures off my camera onto my daughters laptop then to my photobucket so here they are.
This is my fishing partner John whom I taught how to fish and fillet a fish too. This is one of the big catfish he caught on his 12' UL crappie rod with 4lb spiderwire on it. It took about 20 mints to get it in but we did.  ~sweat

and here is one of the 13" Crappie we caught

and here is our one day limit most between 11" to 12 1/2"

It was a great time and might have to go back this fall.
OK here are a few pictures of a couple of Bass I caught on my UL 1/8oz roadrunner crappie jigs

I also caught a couple of walleyes out of that same spot.
