Ive got a solution once i get a boat. I have an action cam. And a mount for it. It has a remote control and i can remote control it crom my phone so i can take pics.

This trophy thing seems complicated and like you said seems like the time you take your pics the fish will be dead.

The assumption we have here is that the trophy fish is caught on a boat. What if its from the bank? 85-90% of my bass over 6lbs comes from bank fishing. What then? I don't have problem taking a pic of the fish with scale and all when I'm  on the water. I never fish alone on my boat so the other person can take the pic or vice versa. But if I catch a trophy from the bank then what? I fish solo 90% of the time from the bank.
You just never know when the pig of your life is going to come knocking.  lo

West6550

Such is life lol

Jim the only picture required is the entire fish while on a scale with the weight reading. They recommend a "selfie" and measurement picture. But it's not required.

Yeah it is a bit more complicated for bank fishing. Either way I'm registered lol.

So by the rule it doesn't state you MUST be in the picture. Which helps I guess. You can send supplemental pictures though. In which case you could probably stretch out both arms and take pics that way. You could always take the full length pic without you holding the scale and fish then another with you holding the scale part of the fish lol.

1. Submit a photo of entire fish (head-to-tail, with nothing cut off) on the scale with the weight showing. Hand scales should only be held by the designated handle without touching the chain or shaft, nor should the fish be touched while weighing. All scales, including panscales, should be properly tared in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Supplemental photos holding or releasing the bass, close ups of the scale, shot of entire fish on a tape-measure, and maybe a girth photo may also be submitted. However, the required photo is of the entire bass on the scale with the weight showing.

During practice for a club tourney on Saturday, one of our members caught this almost 10 from Lake Talquin. He has entered the fish in FWC's Trophy Program.

Nice one!

I remember someone telling me about entering one last year. They got some good stuff from it.

That is actually a good idea, I got one from Big Lots for less than $5 for the waterproof camera we got.  Too bad it doesn't have a plug in shutter control.  But it does have a self timer so you can get it all ready, and start the timer, then make the picture.

I'm actually planning on using mine like a mono pod.  Use my tackle bag or something else as a base then take movies with it.

It actually came out cheaper than making one out of a pipe.
