Hey I'm sure most of you guys are aware of this program but I wanted to point a few in the right direction.

Braggin Rights guys does this seem easy or what!!?!

The Florida Wildlife Comission pays anglers for tags and now they are paying for "trophy" bass.  Depending on the size gets you gift cards and even a free replica mount on a huge pig!

Starts at 8lbs and $100.

All you have to do is sign up, document your catch and get paid. I linked mine with my valid current fishing license. It was easy and it linked super easy.

Here's the link guys.

Programs like these help the state keep track of how the fish are doing. So why not?

West6550

Did I mention signing up enters you towards a new Phoenix boat give away.. lol

Deadeye

Yep I did earlier this spring. I figured I'd wait until I caught one big enough then found out just by signing up you are entered to win a new fully rigged boat.

Last years winner never entered a fish and won a brand new boat complete with electronics and power pole.

I know a number of guys on another site that have entered fish or attempted to enter fish. You need to make sure the scale is readable and the entire fish is shown in the pic, head to tail. Or an entire fish with a length and girth up off the ground. Otherwise they will not accept your entry. One of the guys nailed a 10 and was denied because a quarter of the tail was not in the pic.

Yeah I think it's because they don't want a tail being pulled on.

correct....just something to watch out for. Alot of the guys that fish solo will have a hard time pulling a photo off.

Yeah I thought this also when I read it. But hey money on top of a big fish.. why not!

So let me ask you guys this. How can a pic with a 8lb+ bass be taken showing a clearly visible weight and the entire fish? I know I can't pull this off solo. The 5.5lb I caught yesterday barely fit on my screen. 8+ or 10lb fish cannot be captured solo.

I know it can't but you might want to ask your buddy from the other forum, he claimed he did the photo with his arm outstretched, however one of his catches hadn't been verified on the site. Almost everyone I seen it is a  photo taken by someone else.

Go Pro Lou.. just keep it with you. It takes time lapse photos. Click it to do that and hold it out and move it around to make sure you get a good reading.

I was thinking of that also. That's the only way someone by themselves can possibly capture a picture with those requirements.

Deadeye

I take mine on the boat with my camera screwed to a piece of PVC pipe that has one end cut at an angle. The angle side allowed me to put a 1/4" SS bolt through it with a Nylock nut on the outside.

When I screw the camera on it snugs up good enough against the nut that you can angle it up or down. The PVC fits over the back deck pedestal and you can turn it side to side to get the framing you want.

Simple easy and it works for me. I just use the timer on the camera for 10 secs + 2 secs and it takes 2 pics.

PVC pipe is about 2 ft long and fits in my side box.

On the bank you would need a tripod.

Fred I have a similar pole for my GoPro.  Maybe I should get a clamp mount to hold my cell phone. Like the ones for a dash of a car. Just a thought?

The Go Pro will take stills, or you can take a short video of the fish and do a capture to make a picture from it.  I do that a lot with the dogs since they don't pose very well.

Yeah i was thinking just that. I had trouble taking pics of my 4 pounder on on my big scale. Maybe a smaller scale could help. Do they have any approved scales? Or can you use any? I mean my scale is a chinese knockoff i got on ebay. It has some nice features including a retractable measuring tape...you know so i dont need to measure my fish with a rod. The scale isnt perfect but its more accurate than i thought it would be. Its within 1 to 2 oz of of the actual weight from the tests ive run. Not sure how some of the other scales do.

The phone also takes video and time lapse photo. Maybe you can find somehwere to place it. Tacklebag? Tree? On the boat the boat seat. It can be done just gotta get creative. You can always do video leaning the phone against something then use the pc to chop the video into pics...

Or go pro. I havent taken my pro out yet much cause i want to get a chest strap and one of them sticks. That would add length to your arm.

Lol smart move. You know what would be awesome? A retractable pole so it easily fits in a tackle bag.

I didnt read the details too closely, so does the angler have to be in the pic also?  I was planning on building a deal that will hold the scale, with a bump board in the background, and it would mount in the seat post hole on the back deck.  If I have to be in the pic then I'll need a camera post also.  Hell, by the time i get it all set up the fish will die.  Gonna have to practice with some small ones for sure.

Ive got a solution once i get a boat. I have an action cam. And a mount for it. It has a remote control and i can remote control it crom my phone so i can take pics.

This trophy thing seems complicated and like you said seems like the time you take your pics the fish will be dead.
