For anyone interested the VA DGIF has a web cam operating at Boshers Dam on the James River. They've been doing this for many years & it's always interesting to view it as you never know what species of fish you might see. The primary interest is the Shad that migrate up the river, but in the past I've seen many catfish, bass and eels, plus some species I couldn't identify. The best viewing has been at night.

Cool stuff!  ;D

Rudy, I've been watching some tonight & have seen what looks like several SM bass, and what I think was a Gizzard Shad but nothing else so far. In the past years once the waters are warmed enough there can be a steady flow of fish through there.

IMO, it is very interesting when there's a lot to see, but can be boring too when it's slow!  lo

Yeah when I was watching it kept updating 3 pics every 2 seconds. Does it do that for you as well or is a real video and fish swim by?

Until I see something not sure if thr camera is looking "down" or "sideways". I see the 3 black lines

I believe it looks straight at the back drop on a horizontal plane. The black lines on the glass are 12" apart to show the size of the fish passing thru. The whole thing is mounted to the side of a fish ladder built at that dam, so as the fish use the ladder to bypass the dam, they have to go thru that section where the cam is located. Each pic you see is a still shot as the fish pass thru. If you would wish, you can save images like you would any other pic, but you have to be fast before it refreshes again.  lo

It's a cam, not a video & it does refresh every 2 seconds so yes, that's how it's supposed to be working.
