just got a very good deal on a 703 savvy,(probably because the fury line might drop the value of the savvy?) but anyway, was thinking of using it for swim jigs. does this rod have enough back bone for swimjigs up to 3/8? around docks and grass?

Yes it does...I throw 1/4-3/8 on 3 powers all the time. I use a 733... 1/2 and over I move up to the 734... The 703 is an excellent spinner bait rod also in those same weights.

I use my 703 for topwater plugs and treble hook baits.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

I have one that I won in a contest here, Thanks UB!, and it's honestly the most versatile rod I've ever used.  Last year I used it as a spinnerbait / squarebill rod, but it also saw a fair amount of time rippin hard jerkbaits for river smallies.  The year before last it was my soft plastic rod and saw action from weightless stick baits to 1/2 oz t-rigged plastics in the grass.  You cant really go wrong with that rod however you use it, outside of leaving it at home in the corner.
