Curious if anyone does any fishing in my area. I live in Lake City and find that I am fishing solo. I fish from a kayak and would love to meet some local fishermen/fisherwomen.  Where is everyone located?

Lake City, I've heard of it but not sure exactly where it is. Is it near Gainesville?

In any case I live in Deltona. That is about halfway between Daytona and Orlando.

Yeah... we are pretty diverse down here. We sure are a melting pot of many ethnicities.

Winter Haven here it's in central Florida about 20 minutes south of Interstate 4.  The north of our county is sometimes referred to as "Orlampa" for being in between Orlando and Tampa.

I am pretty much across the lake from LEGOLAND.  ~cf

In case you are wondering the city of Lake Wales (in my county) holds our current state record  ~shade  I am lucky enough to be less than an hour from a lot of the big name lakes in Florida.  Kissimmee, Toho's (both lol), Walk-in-Water.  Lots of great water around these here parts.

My family has gone to Vero Beach for years.  When I was 18-19 (pre married lol) I went to Sebastian inlet 1-2 a week for the waves.  I could make it there in a little over an hour lol....  Now I know better? lol  PoPo

Oh different Sebastian lol ? Never heard of it.  :shocking:

C'mon man, there is only ONE Sebastian, they broke the spelling mold when they made that one, or something like that.  ~roflmao

Sebastian is the town and the inlet is the water, more or less.  There is a state park there right on the inlet, great fishing there too.

Yea.  The actual town is across the Indian river from the Inlet. It shows it is a little South of the Inlet, but it is all considered Sebastian.  The map calls it the St Sebastian river or canal or something like that is where we used to fish a lot.  We dropped the St. part off all the time for some reason that I don't know.  There was a marina there with a nice boat ramp and bait shop.

There are a few other marinas and stuff to launch around there, but I think it was for larger boats than ours, not sure why we didn't go there.

Used to be a great snook fishery, not sure about now.
