13"

Got to go out for a little while this afternoon.  Only got this one in the boat on a melon shad ez swimmer.  I had one that was about four pounds on the line when she jumped about a foot out of the water, did a little spin and came unhooked.

TWIG, documented your catch.

Hey Rick. You keep talking about these rock ledges. Tried running a crankbait into the rocks?

Had a fun day out on the water today.  We hit them hard for about 30mins lol then not again all day.

I landed two pickrels lol and one bass which isn't much but culls me a 1/2 inch.

Had: 15, 15, 15, 16, 20 = 81"

Now: 15, 15, 15.5, 16, 20 = 81.5"

15.5

Some pictures from the day.

Pz3

Some good colors on that fish. Bummer you didnt find the pigs.

Capt. BassinLou

WEST, your catch has been documented. Those were nice pics. Reminds me of some of the pics I took while fishing on Kissimmee a couple of wknds ago. The cypress trees looked beautiful. I enjoyed the sunrise pic. It's so calming being out there on those big lakes, when the weather is cooperative of course.  lo

Been laid up last few days with bad legs (thank you Uncle Sam), but was able to get out for a couple hrs today. Fish were caught punchin the thickest stuff I could find. There not much but I'm on the board. 12.5, 13.75, 14.25, 12.75 (53.25")I tried hard for a 5 limit today because I know I'll be laid up for the next few days, missed a good one to start the day that would have helped.

Nice day (minus the ran and wind). Missed two big ones, but that is how it goes in the punch game. Caught this 16.5" (had 53.25 now 69.75)

This was a cool moment. Little Gator chillin on a fallen down tree

Holy crap i feel claustrophobic just by looking at TOOK's kayak pics. Lol. A kayak would never work for me.

Took, looking at your pics again, that area looks great for some serious punching. Can you get the right leverage fishing from a yak. I ask because I have never fished from one. I know when I am standing on my boat. I use my hip and legs to drive the hook home, in a yak your legs are out of the equation.

Took

I love the kayak, never thought I would as I used to fish from a flats boat.  The area I fish is super thick and I never see any boats so it's virgin fishing because you have so much thick vegetation and it riddled with stumps/submerged trees. It took a little while to get the punch game down from a kayak because of sitting, but I have it down to an art and honestly like it more than from a boat as you are closer to the water. I miss a few here or there but that can be expected because of how thick the veggies are.  Only drawback is distance covered in a day of fishing is definitely shorter but the lake I fish is small, and most is extremely thick swamp like area.

Also, instead of hips and legs it's a lot of arms and shoulders.  I think the rod helps. I have a custom Adrenaline Rod built just for this purpose with extended grip that helps for leverage.

Nice... makes sense. You have to adapt.

Tons of arms and shoulders Lou. Its a whole new experience. I ended up submerging my rod a bit before hook set.

Had a good day on the water with West.  We hit a bunch of spots on Toho I was checking for my upcoming tournament.  We found fish about 9 am and boated 3 good keepers and West had 2 nice pickerel.  We moved on so not to burn that spot and thought we would find more fish.  We were wrong.  The wind picked up and was kicking +20 and got rough on the way back to the south end.

Here are my 2 for the day

16.5

15.5

Both came flipping a Rage Structure bug in mixed pads and grass in 4 feet of water.

One really mean gator. Attacked a neighbors john boat in my favorite honey hole.

I want to keep my arm lol.

FD, I documented your 2 fish form yesterday. You have jumped up to 5th place.

FD

Hit the local mud puddle this morning.  1 bite, 1 fish.  On a bitters vibe in scattered pads.

Drop the 13 add the 19 = 78.

Fished all day with my new Pro Qualifier and I LOVE IT! I set 4 of the 6 brakes on, and had the magnetic break down to about 4 casting against the wind most of the day. I only caught two fish towards the end of the day both were 12 inches long so no point in taking a picture.

Either way it was a great day as I tried the 5 inch senko, the 6 inch, a small spinner bait, a buzz bait and a minnow crank bait. The farthest I was able to cast was with the small metal spinner bait. It was small and fairly heavy so it traveled farther than anything I have ever cast with any rod. I did find out today that there are Peacocks in the lake I have been fishing. There was a guy using a jerk bait catching them. Since I was getting skunked about 2 hours later I tried my minnow crank in an area of the lake that was amazingly visible. But right before the crank I was using a senko and spotted a group of 4 nice sized peas. I tried sight fishing for them and almost got one to strike the senko. When that failed I switched to the crank and had the peas launch themselves to the crank and then stop and turn around just half an inch from the bait. They did this several times and then I lost them. :(

I am a little  >:(. Just came home, and I lost a 20"+ and one of my Nu-Tech jigs. Note to self!! Do not fish South FL canals full of limestone with expensive tackle. I was bouncing the jig along the bottom edge of a limestone wall where I saw a beautiful bass tracking my jig some distance behind. The bass would not commit however. So I recast and reeled the jig back to the general area and the bass returned but staying in the shadows. I then proceeded to quickly pop the jig and that got the fish's full an   undivided attention. I would let the jig settle for a moment and quickly pop it up 1 ft or so. The bass rushed over and placed its nose right above the jig. When i popped it again she smoked it. I set the hook the line popped. Looks like as I was popping the jig the line was rubbing against the limestone. Anyhow lesson learned.  ~xyz!!
