Although Daylight savings time is throwing me off a bit. The good news is when I head out to the Glades, it makes for a long day of fishing.

I stayed out a little longer the last couple of times I went, probably will be able to do that until it gets hot again.  Intake at 2ozs at a time makes it hard to keep hydrated when it is really hot.

Hope that changes in a couple of years that makes for tough fishing in the summer around here.

Caught 4 this weekend and - yes - forgot to measure them Will you bass fishing professionals on this board kindly accept estimated lengths 'cause I estimated those 2 pounders to be about 18-20 inches after I ran over them a couple times     j/k

Been laid up last few days with bad legs (thank you Uncle Sam), but was able to get out for a couple hrs today. Fish were caught punchin the thickest stuff I could find. There not much but I'm on the board. 12.5, 13.75, 14.25, 12.75 (53.25")I tried hard for a 5 limit today because I know I'll be laid up for the next few days, missed a good one to start the day that would have helped.

Today was very slow again at my local lake. I know what they want, I just can't give it to them. I'm all out of jigs thanks to the rock ledge. Weedless my arse.

I got a huge hit on my last jig with a pitboss trailer both in blue and green. Unfortunatly for me, I had caught 1 to many fish with the braid/floro double uni leader. Upon hookset the weight of the fish snapped the knot. Lesson learned. Retie after a couple of fish.

After that I switched to the trusty Stick-O which hasn't been a big hit there in the last couple of days, but I was out of options as I went with a limited tackle bag.

The Stick-o caught both of these: 16.25 and 13.25. Got my 5 fish and the 13.25 to cull the 12.75.




And then there was this guy. LMG you were right. There are crawdads even at the park I fish. They seem to come to the shore at night. Saw several but figured I would post a pic.



That should put me at 83.75 if I am not mistaken.

Yeah it was pretty cool, I was walking with the light off and I saw some movement in the shallow water. Very slow movement, since the water is clear and as you can see the bottom is light colored the dark brown craw stood out a bit. Flashed my light on it and bam, there it was. Then as I was fishing a little more I saw a few others moving around, and a blow up right at the shore about 8 feet from me. I am assuming 1 less craw in the lake.

That is crazy! All the years I have fished never seen any, but used to set traps in the ditch in front of our house and catch them for bait.

There was a branch of Peace Creek that ran into Lake Garfield.  It crossed under Highway 60, all the pastureland around it would flood.  As the waters were receding you would see a bunch of people harvesting crayfish there.  Don't know what happened, but after a few years you saw armed guards keeping people out of that pasture during that time.

There were so many of them that you would see big dark moving spots, and tons of birds, of course.

We used to catch them in the ditch as a kid too.  I have seen some in lakes, normally night fishing near the boat ramp.  They love little holes around sea walls.  One of many reasons I always fish boat ramps.

For now... there is a lot of March still to go. At the rate WEST and Rick are fishing I will be knocked down for sure. My glades trip is coming up in a couple of weekends, I hope to put a dent in my numbers then.

I missed two... one was easy 4-5lber.. lost in grass :.( The other was 3-4lber swam towards me and lost at the boat :-(


Also caught a 14"... literally ripped him out and he landed on my head lol

Losing fish hurts especially when they are nice. Did the 14" bounce off your head and fell back into the water??
