We were coming home in the wife's couple week old Escape, she decides it would be a good time to get bait.  I buy 10lbs of dead shrimp in a bag with ice.

The ice melts and leaks all over the back of that new Escape.

Two weeks later a $20 detail job ends up being $60 because of the 4 times they had to shampoo the back carpets and the two urinal pucks.

Bait, no matter what the form stinks!!!!!!!!

I agree, I have a jar of Gulp Alive and I have to hold my breath when I open it.  It is worse after it has been in the sun for a few trips.   ~a~

Funny thing is that is all catches fish.

Fish bites don't smell at all hardly, and catches fish almost as good.  Go figure.

Wow, almost got skunked tonight. Went to my usual spot, threw my usual baits.

1 bite, 1 dink.
Tried the following baits:

Stick-O
Havoc Hawk Hawg
Pit Boss
Top water popper

But I did get some more practice with the B/C and had virtually no issues today till it got dark, and I had to switch to the spinning gear.

Sounds like a good time then, even if it was slow.  After a while you will be able to feel the lure just hit the water and stop the spool in time.  It kind of becomes a Zen thing.

It is amazing that even my "dead" combos give me enough feel for that.

When I went out Wednesday, I fished from 9 am until 4 pm and caught a little croaker, or should I say skunk saver.  ~roflmao

Hit my back yard. Threw the burner craw for a bit, maybe 10 minutes just to see the action. Grabbed my with a trusty Trap. Got a dink in 10 minutes went in still chilly and windy, but warming up. Oldest boys got first LL game of season today. Gonna head to maple street get some chicken and biscuits with the in laws. Should be able to get out a lot next week I hope!

To quote MCS I "hit my back yard" aka the dock on our community lake when I got home from work 630pm ish or so.

No clue what water temperature was lol probably low 70's since it was windy and chilly today.

I tried my new frog with a couple of slaps at it.  So I swapped over to the new Culprit swim baits I bought on sale.

I casted out to a ridge I know of where it goes from 5' or so to 15+'.  From my angle it was almost a parallel and uphill retreat to the ledge.

Anyways I casted and let it fall to the bottom.  Then gave it a fast retrieve for a second or two and paused.  Lifted the rod tip to pull it out of some grass.  On the fall after that she smashed it.  Set the hook and it was a really good fight.. drag pull and all.

Here is the little piggy (and a bald guy lol): 5-6lbs

20"

Had:
12, 12.75, 14, 15, 16 = 69.75
Cull the 12 out for this 20" = 77.75"

My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

Rick, your catch has been documented. I am also happy to announce that you are in 1st place, with WEST behind you in 2nd.
Lou I just looked back to see where I stood an realized either you made a mistake or I am missing something.

Rick was at 67" with 4 fish
I was at:
12, 12.75, 14, 15, 16 = 69.75 prior to my new fish (20") that culls the 12 out, total is now 77.75"

Does Rick have five? If so where is he at?

Thanks Lou

Thanks I appreciate it.  No rush just was trying to see how I'm doing.

Regardless Rick has a good sack of fish even with only 4!

Rough day on Toho. White caps at 630 when I launched this morning. Got a pickerel a perch and 1 13" bass. As usual the back seat guy out fished me. He had two 3 pounders.
