Did you run up the river from Camp Mack?  It used to be real shallow where the river joined the lake, a sand bar or something.  I fished there a few times, usually catfishing, instead of bass fishing though.  Some nice water in that whole system.

Nice fish for a tough day.

We put in at "The Port" aka the end of Lk Hatcheniha Rd.  I think it used to be called Camp Mary?

OH yea, I always thought it was camp Murry,  lo  Never been there, but did hear talk about it off and on.

I never got that far up there, not long after we discovered that we could actually catch fish there, they had that big draw down and almost drained it.  I think they did something to the inlet from the river then too.

A couple of times we ran up Cypress canal and fished it a ways up, but never did much as long as I can remember.

If you stay off the mouth of London Creek about 100 yds there is a shell bar that normally has some scattered hydrilla on it.  A good rattle trap spot.

Hatch is probably the best fishery on the chain, if you know how to fish it.  Last spring I put together a 5 fish 19 lb bag in an hour.  Anchored by these two.  Sadly I did not even boat the biggest fish I saw.

Nice sack of fish.  29lbs took the win on Kissimmee last weekend.  Just insane.

5 fish 29 pounds is the leading weight for todays FLW out of Toho.  I'm going over this weekend and trade some paint with them.

I'm just going to keep them coming...

Started off the night with a pitboss in a green pumpkin just as the sun set. Just a few casts in swimming the boss through some grass I got the first hit. A nice 16.50 not to far from the bank in shallow water. Then  not to far from there I cast again, same deal, but this time I came up with a 12.75.
My pitboss was tore up so I switched to another. 30 minutes later I gave up on the boss and went with a zoom junebug colored trick worm. A few casts and I hooked a small one. Then several casts later another dink hit, this one smaller than the last. A very ambitious little guy not much bigger than the trick worm. It seemed the bigger fish moved out to the middle of the lake, or at least completely out of my range and the smaller fish moved closer to the bank. I got several hits on the trick worm but nothing significant enough to set my hook on properly.

So New Fish 16.50 + 12.75 + old fish 18.50 + 19.25 = 67  (BTW thanks Lou for the hard work you put into this, and as was mentioned earlier, being an excellent zookeeper.)

16.50

Thanks CCR! One of the main differences is that now I am focused on learning my lakes, and understanding were the fish might be and pick up on a pattern. The other main difference was a bit of coaching from Lou. My hooksets are on point now (oh and Lou, guess what? I am using those Gammi hooks I was hating on last month. Though I still like the owners better but I couldn't let these go to waste. I do take my pliers and open the hook up slightly on the offset wide gaps.)

LOL actually I stopped  ~beer~ about a month and a half ago. I am on a strict diet. Down 35 pounds in 5 weeks so far. I have another 100 to go. This reel is a gift to myself for getting through 1 month without 1 cheat day!
