Considering that 10 points is for first, I would only grant 2 for a big fish. Just my opinion. I think you should have to make the five count, and only get a small bonus for the big girl. As for the Classic, Lou and I discussed that it will stay the first weekend of October. This way its the same time every year so y'all can make plans. Fluctuations seem to be a demise, look at the guys that flopped the East Lake get together since they couldn't figure out a date.

Basically meaning you fish day one and win with only day one fish you get a bonus.

I think the system is good but big fish should be knocked down some.  I mean if you place dead last with the big girl you still get the same points for 5th place.

A fun idea I thought about was like lure specific.  Example: December any jerk bait (I own one? I think lol) gets one extra point that month and we can vote for the specific lure.  Make us all learn new things or atleast be recognized if we do? Something low like 1 point no matter what the size of the bass is. And 1 point only per month not per fish.

I agree that Big fish should not be worth 5 points.  I like the 2 point suggestion.  I can't wait for the new AOY contest to begin.  Giving yall a 6 month head start was no fun.

I am glad that the rule revision's has received notice. So that we are on the same page so far. The most recommendation's I have seen is big fish winner receives 2 pts instead of the previous 5.  West made a bait of the month recommendation as well. Good ideas so far. Keep them coming.

I kind of like the bait idea, but it could be too biased depending on what kind of water you fish. I had thought about something similar a long time ago, but realized that it could get redundant, confusing, and cause some controversy. It would be like saying this month we fish canals, or lakes. We are too diverse of a group.

Well my idea is lure specific.  My thought was we vote each month for the next month.

It could be kinda open. Like next month is rattle traps or creature baits.  We make suggestions and vote.

Um.... I  can vouch for that. 3-4 yrs ago, ER visit due to a jerkbait and a treble hook dug into my thumb. Lol.. and ouch!!
