If you noticed I didn't have a dragging heavy footballs, pitching, A-rig, sm swim bait rod in my 2015 line up...
Just remembering last season on Pickwick where we threw some 6" swim baits, mid weight A rigs, and
got into some big Stripers on top...
Thinking maybe an 804C, or 765 Flip? Some pros down there swear by the 804C...
BTW caught the big Striper on a 684C  lo (sometimes you get lucky)...

or maybe something else?

If your not getting into heavy cover, honestly a 745 could do that stuff well

I should have mentioned that Dark 3....I may be good with tossing the A rigs with the DX745...never tried it, nor heard of anyone doing it...but I really only throw A rigs down south where there are shad.

While you want a stronger rod for the A rig, having some give in the tip will help with casting distance. I'd go with the 804c if my primary concern was the A Rig

I use an 804c for a-rigs and it works really great.

Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?

Dang I can't agree...someone must throw a wrench in on a good thread. 804C is probably our #1 A-Rig rod. It will fish 6" size SB as well. It's also a really good "light" flippin stick ( no for punchin please )

The 795 MLSB is another top A-Rod but it need some weight to cast and load it. If you using some 1/4oz or 3/8oz..this is best rod. It will throw 6" swim baits as well.

764C Champion is another great A-Rig rod we make. It's mainly for lighter weighted rigs as well. But, this rod is very versatile . It's a great jig rod, Spinnerbait rod, Buzzbait rod, Chatterbait rod, light flippin, awesome C-Rig rod and even techniques than are listed. WE sell a bunch of these because they can be used on some different bait.

806 CB is my person favorite. My son Richard's too. It's a BIG CB rods. It's light and powerful. It Makes make as a 10 XD rod. As soon as got them in both me and Richard grabbed a couple. These are AWESOME as long as the rid is not too heavy. I throw a six wire rig A Rig with five 1/8oz and one 1/4
The 806 feels much better.

Dang when I read my response above  it looked like I had been in the whiskey barrel again  :) :)

For some reason when I post on Ultimate Bass....I never get all that I type. It leaves out many letters. I don't have a clue as to why. I usually reread my posts...obviously I didn't this time.

If anyone has an answer to why I have this problem...I sure like to hear it. It drives me nuts. I just missed 14 letters in this post...but I reread this time :)

I have been eyeing the 806 for 8xd and 10xd. Might justify it if I can throw a rig too!

It handles the lighter A-Rigs very well. I throw a 6 wire rig with five 1/8oz heads and one 1/4oz head on the bottom. It's perfect and for this weight of A-Rig it's all I throw. Of course it's awesome on 8XD and 10XD baits. Honestly, it's not a club either. When you first pick it up...you may wonder if it can really handle a 10XD....but it was made for this bait. Good luck fishing and send pics of a BIG ONE!! :)

Being in tn all I can throw is 3 wire or 5 wire 3 hooks. I might get the 806 then.

I guess since Gary was in on this, I dont have much to add.

Just buy them all and sort it out later  ~gf
