A very neglected boat. Haven't touched it in 3 years. It needs a major cleaning as winter has done a lot of damage to cover. The boat has about 20 gallons of gas in it that has to be 4+yrs old. I'm guessing that I would have to remove that as it still can't be of good quality. Only problem is what to do with it once I've removed it. Are the tires still good on trailer.  My buddy told me that because it's sat in the same spot for so long that it's bad for the belts and that they would have a flat spot and not to drive it till I change all of them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would get rid of the old gas. If you haven't done a test run on the motor yet I would get rid of the gas first.Water separates from the fuel when it sits like that. We have a couple of gas stations around here that will take old gas and oil and dispose of it. One charges a small fee the other doesn't. I suggest you ask around your local stations and see if any of them will take it.

Flat spots on the tires definitely become a problem when sitting for so long, especially in areas where it gets cold for a while. Up here we put the trailer up on blocks in the winter, especially if it is stored outside. IMO it would be worth the cost to change them all now, even the spare and have the peace of mind.

That's just my $.02

P.S. When you get ready to give the thing a good cleaning contact Joe at our site sponsor Pro-Tec and tell him what you need to do. He will help with what you need without trying to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need. On top of it he will give you a 10% discount for being a member of Ultimate Bass if you use the code UB10.

I agree with Smallie, the tires are gone, may not look like it but I promise they are separated.  And there are no better products out there than Pro-Tec, bar none!
