Welcome. Make sure you check the Thread that details all the rules for the contest. For example you can not get in this month, as it is to late. Make sure that you are "in" by the date Lou says when the next month's thread is started.

We have a blast here and try to be friendly while jesting with each other. Most guys share what worked for them and we all have become better fishermen because of it.

Lou another thought for a ruler. I got this one from a friend of mine and it is what I use.

Wal Mart sells an Aluminum Yard Stick in the Hardware section. They are cheap like a couple of bucks.

There is already one hole in one end about 1 inch in. I drilled another two holes, one in the middle and one in the other end 1 inch in. Placed it on my back deck and fastened down with 3 #8 SS Buttonhead Screws. If it ever goes bad just unscrew, place against another new one to drill in same spot and replace.

I've had mine on there for 4 years with the boat sitting outside uncovered and it still looks new. If you want or need an upturned angle just get a piece of 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 Aluminum Angle and place it under one end and screw it fast as well. I've never felt the need for it, just hold the fishes jaw to the end and see where the tail ends up.

It's fun for sure and all in good sport.  We normally do share how and when we caught them and most us like to try new waters and learn.  If somebody gives you a hard time its all in good fun.

Oh and ignore any advice from LMG..  he's our village idiot    ESPECIALLY when it comes to reel or rod advice lol  Poor guy uses nothing but Zebco's and ugly sticks but tries to tell everyone else he is all Shimano.

To late in the Game to change the rules now 

Had a good day, here's the story.

Went to the River to fish a couple of spots I know of that I haven't fished at all this year. First spot no one is there and I start by throwing Topwater. No takes. Local guy shows up and anchors. I fish down one side then back up the other, while noticing some fish breaking further up on the one side. I switched over to a Chatterbait, one of those things I've had for awhile and never use, and work my way up and across to where I saw them breaking earlier. About the 3rd or 4th cast in that area and I nail a 16 incher.  While I'm dealing with it, taking picture and what not, this guys pulls up to the exact spot I was at when I caught it and tossed his anchor out. I know this guy and he's a dick to put it lightly. He and his buddy catch two more while their on the spot. A-hole.

Anyway after working the area for about 3 hours and only one fish to show for it I head to spot #2. As I'm working my way to it I'm tossing a Rat L Trap and I see fish breaking on that spot too. Caught a couple on the Trap and a Fluke before they shut off. So I pulled out my U-Rig and started tossing it. Caught several on it, including the posted Double. They would shut off for awhile and I would wait then start throwing again and catch some more, but only on the U-Rig. They wouldn't hit anything else. Eventually I hooked into a big underwater log and I couldn't get it  back, with as deep as it was and the current as strong as it was it was hard to try and get it back. I finally broke the 65 lb braid and lost it. Tried a smaller 3 wire version that I had, but no takes on it and never have had any.

Ended up catching 9 at that spot over a 2 hour period for a total of 10 for the day. Called it a day and headed out, but my day wasn't over yet. When I got to the end of the creek at the River, there sat two guys tied to a sign pole with their motor broke down. So I towed them back to the ramp.

Got my Five and some to cull as well. 

New total is: 15.5 + 16 + 16 + 16.75 + 17.25 = 81.5

Here are the new ones. Pics are not that good as the fish would not stay still. I measured them first then tried to hold them in place as good as I could.

Fred, I documented your catch. You may reconsider being done for the month after I tell you that you are .25" behind COUNTB, for 3rd place.
