Dark.... I am not going to lie to you. When I stuck that bass, and she came up out of the water and shook her head I was sure I had you beat. Love ya... but I play to win. When I laid her on the ruler I was wishing for 21"+ but when i adjusted her and closed her tail she was even at 20.75"!!  :'(  It's all good brother. If you manage to win big fish of the month, congrats you deserve it.

Thanks just keep 'em under 22 while im gone haha, thats all I have to show for the month

More than likely you are safe with me.... maybe. I have only this weekend to wet the line at one of my local canals, and the big canal fish are longer than their Everglades brethren. So no guarantees.  lo

Here is a 17+17.5. Stuck these 2 as the water was moving through under the bridge in my back yard. Noticed a bunch of bass hanging in the current looking for food. I was pitching a lizard to them.

If you notice on the pic of the fish next to the measuring tape, it's tail is at the end of the tape, but 0 starts a half an inch up.

BOATS and LMG, your catches have been documented.

LMG you are at 88.5" you are waaaay to close.  ~sweat

SFL BassHunter

[About 3 hours into my fishing expedition at the trail I had 0 bites. The wind finally started to slow down and I moved my location.  13+16.50+13.25+13= 55.75  + 13.25 (a previous fish) = 69

16.50

13.25

Lou I want to thank you again for all the coaching. You've really helped me out. I was able to use my baitcaster today, I still had a few overruns and backlashes but I was able to overcome that. Also you were right about my spinning rods not being able to bring in a big fish that is in the pads. Lost a big girl today which was a bummer but I caught a total of 6 fish (2 were small 10 inch fish, so no pics.) 6 on the bank and 1 lost, my stats are improving from my 9 losses last weekend lol.   ~gf ~beer~ ~SM

Great job on the catches guys. Looks like most of you now have your five and are culling.

I can't take it anymore I'm going fishing.

Capt. BassinLou

Rick, great job on your outing!! In a week's time your fishing has improved nicely.  WTG!! I documented your catch.

You past WEST by .75". Your top 5 Rick place you currently at 69" WEST you are currently at 68.25". This became real interesting real fast..... lol.

SFL BassHunter

Thanks Lou! You were right about my hooksets. I was setting them way to early. My reaction time was based on saltwater fishing, with snapper when you feel the bite you set the hook. They don't swallow the bait and hold it in the mouths like that unless they are big snapper. Mostly they take chunks out of the bait so you have to set the hook immediately.

I was able to calm down when I felt the initial bite, reel down, feel the weight and then set the hook. It worked!

Next Saturday will be my last chance to cull bigger fish, so I will have to make the most of it. I'll be spooling my 40 lb braid on the B/C before then. Maybe go to the park and get some practice on it Tuesday and Thursday.
