Time to start thinking about and talking about the rally for 2015.  Baron will be heading down in a few weeks, getting all settled in at Boggy Creek.  He is talking about giving East Toho a shot this year.

We need to start narrowing down who is interested in the rally and dates.

March has always been a good month.  If it matters, full moon in March is on March 5.

LMG,I think he meant West Lake since we have been fishing East Lake. I think if we could get stable weather East Lake would produce.

I know.  What is the deal guys?  I enjoy the annual get together.  The fishing is second to getting to visit with all our members.  Baron will be heading down in a week or so.  We need to try and get some dates, see what everyone wants to do.

We stay at Boggy Creek, but I think we are going to trailer over to west lake one day.

Baron is leaving New York the day after Christmas in route to Boggy Creek.  Hopefully he'll start hitting the water next week.  I'm good with any dates, don't have any preferences.  All you guys that chase tournaments and have jobs need to chime in on good dates.  Would like to have a good turnout, just to get to visit with everyone.

Well don't know if I could make it anyway BUT, 3rd Saturday of February I have a Meeting to attend (I am President of my MC and we offer Camping for Bikers during Bike Week and this is an important meeting to get everything finalized), 4th Saturday will be the Bike Week Clean Up, 1st & 2nd Saturdays of March will be Bike Week.

That counts me out unless we do it 3rd or 4th weekend in March. But don't set it just for me, whatever works for you guys is the best thing to do.

FD

The last weekend of March the Paralyzed Veterans Tourney is on West Toho and I'm a boat captain and would not be available.  Any other weekend I would be good with though.

Don't know if I could make it anyway but I have no interest in fishing either west lake or east lake toho.   If you are looking for a fishery that is producing in central florida, your best choice is Clermont chain, butler chain, or Johns Lake.  Any of these lakes will produce better than west lake or east lake.

Just a little background on the UB rally and it's location.  Baron49 comes down to Florida from upstate New York every year from January through April.  He has done this for years and stays at Boggy Creek (East Lake).  It was originally suggested by him to have a rally and since that is where he stays, we went there.  I know there probably better fishing in other areas but we have gone there due to it being a central location, great cabins, and it being where Baron is staying.  For me, it is more about getting together with other UB members than the fishing; but I have caught fish each year there...nothing huge but always catch some fish.

We have fished East Lake the three previous years but Baron is planning on spending some time on West Lake this year.  He arrived at Boggy Creek on Saturday and will probably start hitting the water soon, and hopefully will be updating us on the fishing.

I can go at any time since I'm retired so if anyone wants to get together, it can be scheduled around their schedules...work and tournament.  My trip or trips will be dependent on if/when others want to go and Baron's fishing reports.  He is also booking quite a few weekends for playing music in the area so not sure what his weekends look like.

Looking forward to input.

Depending on when it is I may go. Went to the last three lol

I will be honest though fishing has been terrible the last three years running during the rally.  I wish we'd do Lake Kissimmee or something else.  If you guys find a date and I'm off I will probably go.  I am off every other weekend.

If i'm moved back by that time im going to try to make it.  I plan to be very near to Istokpoga, and plan to host a rally there at some date.

That would be great.  We did out Braggin Rights classic at Grape Hammock on Lake Kissimmee and it was a great place.  Boat parking on the water for all too!  Each cabin / camp gets a spot.

Hendersons would be great but they are normally full during snowbird season.

The idea of the rally was for everyone to get together and have a chance to get to know each other, do a little fishing and swap good stories.  Granted the fishing when the rallies have been held have not produced as well as some would like, but the group that travels and meets up with me here at Boggy Creek have caught three over 10 lbs out of East lake and more 6 to 8 lbers then I can remember.  It is fishing, when conditions are right you can catch them as the many photos that have been posted show.

I am open for suggestions as this was supposed to be a fun time.  Boggy Creek was suggested as it has ample cabins, a restaurant, and a boat ramp all within walking distance.  Access to West Toho is about 20 minutes away.
