I have a 2015 Skeeter TZX190 With 150 HP Yamaha HPDI two stroke with 23 pitch prop installed. I feel like I need more pitch The engine will over rev on the top end before it feels like it is trimmed out good. I am thinking maybe a 24 or 25 pich prop is needed. I will be checking with the dealer Tuesday to see if they will swap it out and what they recommend. Thanks for yalls help in advance.

Are you hitting the limiter with a full load and two people? Also remember during the colder weather your 150 is producing more ponies than it will in the heat of the summer. It might be you need the 23 customized for your rig. Also is your prop an M-series or T-1? Do you have a water pressure guage?

Is your current prop 3 or 4 blade? If it's a 3, you might consider a 4 and stay with 23 pitch. A 4 blade will give you a better hole shot and a whole lot more bite going around the bends. It will drop your top end by 3 or 4 mph.

I've been running a 23 pitch 4 blade Renegade and had no gripes but, when I sent it off to be repaired and balanced I asked that it be cupped more. Basically it's now a 24 pitch. It hurt my whole shot a little as well as my top end by a couple mph but, it bites in at the curves better than ever.

You might want to try to borrow a couple of different props to try before you make too big a change. -Jim

I had a 25M on my 150, and it was the best prop that I ran on that boat. The hole shot was great, and so was my top end speed.
