WOW.......I'd hate to see the reactions and comments if you all were fishing for money or prizes. I don't get to go fishing enough so I just observe but way too competitive fir me.  :'(

That's what we do. Take a pic of a ruler next to the rod

OK, my bad, I haven't seen that one, but it does make sense, and like West says I am kind of anal about keeping a ruler around, but that is because I keep fish and want to stay legal.

Sorry guys I shouldn't even be posting about this here.  Good Luck Next Month Y'all.  I do enjoy seeing all the fish Y'all caught.

On the Rules.

What Lou Posted is fine. Most of what West Posted, except the deduction system (either you in on time or your not). Most of what LMG posted.

The only thing I am not crazy about that LMG is ok with is the Rod Measure System. We have seen this competition come down to  .25 or .50 inch for the win. Guessing based on what you "think" it would of measured on the rod is really not that fair to those who do actually measure.

It is not that hard to carry a cloth or regular tape measure along with you when you are bank fishing. I do when I go. I just use on with the belt clip and hook it on and forget it.

You want t to count? Enter it on time and show the measure with a measuring devise. Pretty simple.

I thought this was supposed to be a light-hearted "competition" meant for fun. I guess we need to post the rules exactly and have each participant agree to them each month. No ifs, ands, or buts! Seriously, this is for fun with no prizes. Sometimes I just use common sense. Lol, for a while I thought a fish had to be of legal size to qualify!

That's why I stopped a few months back bro.

Man I sure did miss the fireworks lo lo lo

Hey EvoChris. Congrads buddy. I know last month sucked but you got this one. We are all knuckle heads just shooting the crap. :) next month we shall battle again.

MCS

For what it's worth I enjoyed this months comp. seemed like everyone had a shot CCR, FD, PZ and West all gave the usual guys a run for the money.

We have seen this competition come down to  .25 or .50 inch for the win.

This is why for me.  Last month Count was in 5th with 68.5. I was in 6th with 68.25 and FD was in 7th with 68... until FD and I hit a pond and culled a few.

LgMouthGambler

I guess I am DQ'd for not having a measuring device for 1/4". I see 1/2 inches on mine, and that's what I post. Even if they are 18 3/4 if they are closer to 18 1/2, that's what I post. You guys want to measure to the 1/100" it's on you. Is that really that important? Come on guys. Get real.

I "bother" because I enjoy seeing everyone's catches and also sharing my catches. There's nothing tangible at stake, so I don't take things so serious.

This is exactly why I play.  It's fun to see other's catches.  The minute it becomes something else for me, then I am out.

This is all about fishing as a community.  It's about helping others catch more and enjoy the sport as much as you do.  I have always given exact info to anyone who has asked and share spots, baits and even back seats.  It should be about honesty, intergrity and sportmanship.

And honestly Chris, I don't know you, but from what I read,  I don't like your attitude.  It's not what I think this contest stands for.  Why wouldn't you share your bait with the others at the classic?  Why do you get defensive about your pet fish?  If you fish golf courses, then that's what they are.  Why do you feel the need to put someone in their place in the AOY competition?

If that's the way you feel about this competition, then I think you will be fishing against yourself in a few months.

I'm good with whatever is decided. Rules is rules....... Lol.

Pz3

Its not going to be a perfect competition and I understand why Chris has his concerns. There is ways to cheat the competition.

However, I think having no prizes is ultimately what keeps us all honest. Chris has pet golf course fish? I found a golf course too. Havent fished it yet but I can. Lol.

Its all in fun if I want to really put up numbers I can work harder and find the Toads. I am trying regardless. I want 5 10lb fish in one month!

EvolutionTungsten

I'm good with all rules posted. I'm happy to see them posted actually, takes the guessing game out of it. LMG, I'm fine with you're board. You can see 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch in your 1 inch marks that's not that hard. I think the rod measurements are too close to chance though. If you want to participate in the event, bring something to measure with. Easy enough.

Sorry all for getting upset last night. Yes, I am a very competitive person. I take everything seriously, just the way it is! In all the tourneys I've done, its extremely taboo to ask the leader what bait they used or where they fished until the tourneys over. Put me in a weird spot and I can tell people changed after that. Ask any tourney guy, fun or for money, you keep some things close to the chest if you want to win. If I am perceived differently now, so be it. I'll tell you everything, even give you a couple of what I used. Just not during the event.

Since then I have felt like I've been treated differently. So yes, I decided to "settle it on the court". I haven't had much time lately with opening the new shop, but the goal is BRAY and I do intend on earning it. Even though I missed the first two months, I think this W puts me close to the lead. That's why it means something to me.

BTW, in the classic, we didn't even try very hard the next day. Put a damper on things the mood after I wouldnt give up my bait. Why do you think Alicia isn't into it anymore, and wanted to leave early on Sunday...

We could all fish our "honey holes" that we know will produce 100" months. The purpose of this comp is to explore areas. Use our skills to see what we can come up with, and make all of us better fishermen because of it.

I can tell. I haven't liked how you have talked to me since you got here, can definitely pick up on the attitude.

So if that's the case, why did you sign up for one of my contests? How's those weights I sent ya? You can take free weights and then talk smack to the guy who sent em, nice...

Thank you for that. I think the bad weather had more people turned off on day 2 of the Classic more than anything. We were busting balls about you that was all. I will say this about next year's event, nobody better leave early because my Wife was pissed about not handing out the trophy properly and getting good pics of the winner with it. And you don't want her to get mad, she may end up tagging along.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

FD, you weren't at the classic, you don't know how that played out. You are supposedly a tourney guy, you wouldn't give your winning bait to everyone on a two day event. That's a downright lie. Honesty my butt dude, give me a break.

EvolutionTungsten

I'm done BTW, since I'm the A hole who doesn't explore and keeps catching the same fish and everyone wants to talk down to. I don't need that kind of drama. Sounds like jealousy I have a honey hole is more like it.

That is the stigma of tourney fishing. Psychological warfare lol.

I do want to say one thing though. FD has given out his personal maps to others. Where he marks his catches and honey holes. Pretty good stuff too.

I agree 100%.  I have a 2.5 acres lake I built 5 years ago for a client just to raise trophies.  I stocked it and manage it carefully for him.  I could likely catch 100"s today if I wanted to.  There is no challenge to it.

But that is not what I think this competition it about.  I like fishing all over Central Florida and being a part of this just makes me fish with that little extra determination I would not otherwise have.

This comp. has definitely got me moving around and searching for new waters. I can honestly say that I enjoy fishing even more now. I have also tried some new lures/techniques and equipment combinations as a result of this competition and the members here.

In a regular for money tourney I don't share anything, and never said I did.

The part you just can't seem to grasp is this: This is not a regular tourney.

As far as the classic goes I know this. Most people who know me know I fish Kissimmee a lot.   I gave up all my info and gps coords, and baits, and presentations and even personal maps to everyone who asked for info.

And even last week I would have taken PZ to my Toho spots but he could not make it and I did take West to my local, public access, honey hole where we would have put up 75" in a day if I did not have to leave early.

If that is not the spirit of this "competition", then I don't know what is.
