Dang West way to blow it up big time! Looks like you had a good day.

The couple I caught the other day were on the fall with a Jig and a Senko. I tried fishing the River yesterday and the only bite I got was a Mudfish (Bowfin), but it was a great fight on the Spinning Rod.

I can't figure out the River this month at all. The water is very dark still and way high. There are areas flooded 60 yards or more back into the woods that are normally dry. I'm thinking maybe the Bass followed the water back into the woods, where you have no chance of getting to them.
Unfortunately, you may be right. When we have really high water in the Glades, the bass do just that. They go into the marshes and flats, where many boats cannot access unless its an airboat.

I loaded up on some baits at BPS a little while ago. Looking very forward to Saturday. Forcast is looking good.

16.5"

Caught several today but this was the only one that would cull, so add this 16.5" and cull a 12" to put me at 78" for the month.

Nice upgrade Twigg.

Well I got two to fill my limit today as well. A 13.25 and a 20.25.

That gives me 13.25 + 13.25 + 13.75 + 15.25 + 20.25 = 75.75

Why is your hand swollen FD?

Arthritis in my middle and ring finger.  Working in construction since 1987 has taken its toll on my hands and shoulders.  Plus hundreds of tournaments with a flipping stick in my hand all day long.  This is the worst it has ever been and with the crappy weather this month, it was just not worth the pain.  The weather should be nice Sunday and I'm hoping to hit a local pit for a few hours.

Thanks. This has been the toughest month for bites so far this year for me. Today I fished for about 4 hours and only had 5 hits. The first one (which looked like a nice one) just rolled on the Speedworm and didn't really hit it. The 20.25 smashed it. Then had one little one that I didn't photo and about 10 minutes later it's twin that got off at the boat.

Those were within the first hour and half. I got the 13.25 two and a half hours later not long before I quit.

4 hours and 5 hits. Yuck. Tough to stick it out that long.

Ask your doctor about Celebrex or Meloxicam. I use Meloxicam, one pill everyday to keep the arthritis from becoming as inflamed. It seems to help with it in my spine from top to bottom.

I have the same problem with my right arm, lately i can only fish a few hours before the pain is too much, it can last for days after fishing
just a stick with a string tied to it

So far my trip tomorrow is a go. My son has no surprise baseball games or practices scheduled so I can head out with a clear mind. Soooooo looking forward to this trip. Hopefully, fingers crossed, I can put up some nice numbers.

You been reading FBN...they have other ideas with the vibe and tricks out there. Interesting stuff.  I been fishing paddle tails like what BJ and George talk about, a friend gifted me some and told me what to do a couple months back. Charlies Worms and Gambler 5" to pitch. Good Luck, hope you get some bubba time in too.

Yeah, I have been following that thread also. People fish uvibe worms differently. Yes, you can burn them or just swim them under the surface. Some use it as a t-rig as well. I believe the fish will dictate how they want the uvibe presented.

And... yes you better believe I will be throwing Bubba. But this time of year I throw bubba jr. Thanks I will keep you guys posted.

Good Job Deadeye, I will be going back to Toho tomorrow for a club tournament, so hopefully I can upgrade again.  Thursday when I went to Toho I had the great thrill to be right in the middle of a school of bass.  That was the first time that I had ever seen anything like that.  I wasn't rigged up for something like that but will be prepared if I see it again.  It was fun seeing a bunch of three and four pounders going crazy.

That must be pretty exciting to see for sure. In the next few months thousands and thousands of minnows will make there way into the canals in the glades. You will just see long black clouds of them hugging the banks. Talking about going crazy. There is all type of activity when that happens. Good luck tomorrow. Be nice and give some of us a chance....  lo  ~gf

Deadeye

Good Luck to Lou & Twigg today.

I've seen the St Johns in certain spots look like a Jacuzzi Tub when the shad/menhaden are running and the fish are schooling. There is one spot you can just about count on each February that it will happen. Both Black Bass and Stripers will be there. Hard to catch them without using Live Bait though.

Good spot to go anchor and set with a couple of Live Shiners out on Free Line and just wait. When they hit it you will know, especially if it is a Striper. It's a fun way to spend an afternoon.
