Thanks BW. Does #1 have a decently fast tip or softer? I dont care for working a jerkbait/topwater on a rod with too much tip. Just feels too spongy just like wasted energy. So you like the shorter set up? Why? Is it so its easier to keep your rod tip down?

For #2 I need an "all around cranker" for squarebills to 20 feet. So Im guessing the 705. For spimmerbaits I know that 704 is one of the best rods out there fpr roll casting. Used to have one but I think i wanna try to longer one

I really like the shorter rod for working the lure with a down jerk motion on top water and jerk baits. and I'm 5-11 so it just seems to fit for me as the perfect tip and length. I have a tendency to throw a frog (hard body) like a top water spook jerking it with a down motion or a combination of down jerks and reel turns. For a frog I usually use my Lee Smith Custom which is a 7'3" rod and that's really the only longer rod I use that technique with but have to be more aware of my rod tip so in not snacking the top of the boat. While at Guntersville I had several issues with the mono line (which has plagued me all year) so I was got on the frog bite and grabbed my 684cb and tied my frog on it so I could walk it and jerk it easier but also like to burn it too..... Only problem was I had a BB1 5.1:1 ratio reel on it lol. Hard to burn a frog on top water with a 5.1 reel.  About wore me out.

That's probably the exact same setups I am taking to the Lake Norman Rally. I'll be back seating so 5 rods is really pushing it. I learnt that at Guntersville , was glad I had 5 so I could swap rods real fast to try different things but they seemed to be cluttering my space lol. Depending on my research of what is working at Norman in the next 2 weeks I may cut it down to 4 combos. Probably will leave the DX745 at home and bring my Lee Smith custom rod in its place . All with Lews reels BB1 or Super Duties. The good thing is owning the 734,704,DX744&745,  I can do a whole lot of things with each of those rods so if I have to "tough it" and only bring 4 it will work out.

Personal preference has a lot to do with the perfect rod to technique ratio...

What you have lined out should be very effective. Except... The 795 for a rigs. It will handle them with no problems. But I found it wore me out very quick, I've actually turned to the 735c for anything but giant set ups. The 735 loads very well and is strong enough to handle it. I can fish it much longer on the 735. If your like me you don't throw the a rig much and to have a dedicated rod for it is not worth it. In your line up I might try the 744 for the A rig as well.

Lol. Will do. You guys can check in occasionally if you like. Check out the edit now to the original post. Im mainly using this thread to get organized before doing a huge turnover. Trying to make things stupid simple and getting rid of everything else for now. Also plan to stop hauling around 50 lbs of tackle. Gonna leave stuff pakaged in the man room and take less out

I like it...JDM Diawa  ~c~.....Travel light, it not only is easier carry less, it is easier choosing whether to stick with a lure, area of lake or technique.....Sometimes that pays off and sometimes that doesn't.

You see the bass open schedule, have one at seminole this yr.  ;D

Yea I know drooling over that lol. Wish I was in the position.

Obtaining those two JDM diawas is my current objective. Having a tough time making a decision. So many colorful things lol. Then Im placing that hefty rod order. Then Im gonna start filling all those tackle slots. My savings are in serious jeopardy haha. Gonna try to offload some old tackle ie..cranks, jigs, plastics, jerks, frogs, terminal ect
As for carrying less, I just plan on tacking two of each hardbait style out one in bone, one in maybe gill of each and just minimal everything so that I can keep it NIP at the house so it holds value and such

Well I almost settled for two 1000xt scorpions (basicly a pretty 50e) but I didnt cuz I knew I would quickly grow out of those and want something cooler. So ive been looking at zondas and all the Mega Bass alphas and PX series. Not so much interested in the Zs or zillion line I know LMG cover your eyes haha. The t3 series jdm look cool but dont want the twing.
Check out "japan angler" lots of cool stuff there.

I know you are looking for Daiwa, but the 50E just out performs any Daiwa in that category.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.
