Well I hear a lot about anglers tieing flouro or mono to thier braided lines for stealth or less visibility.

Now I'm not so sure fish actually pay any attention to the line at all but some do.
I hear a lot of anglers tieing on Fluoro or Mono for finnesse techniques to hinder a fishes ability to see the line.
Problem,
one extra knot to fail or the knot going through the guides hindering casting.

Now I use Ultracast Invisi-braid a lot.
Does it work....only if the water is crystal clear.
But I do like the white lines visibility when I cast and when I'm line watching on certain techniques.

So what I do is instead of adding a knot and a leader for stealth,

I take a sharpie and blacken like 3-5 feet of the line closest to the lure/hook.
It amazes me how hard it is to see the line in the water.
Doesn't matter, any water color from dingy/muddy to clear.
It flat out almost makes it impossible to see.

Now I take a knife and make a small slit on the tip of marker for the line to slide through which makes applying much much easier.
For those who believe in the color red similar to Cajun line disappearing in deep water presentations....use a red sharpie but I feel black is best.
The red can also give an appearance of a blood trail in shorter depths too.

So the next time you feel you need to tie a leader to braid for stealth purposes...try using a Sharpie instead and I think you just may be surprised.

I break up the profile of a  straight line of braid by coloring every other foot of the first 6 feet or so of line with a marker.

Great tip, I do this religiously. Does it matter? Idk but it's a confidence thing for me know

that is a better solution for those than using a leader.  i still just use florescent braid even in the day, and have not found that i have a drop off in bites.  i have also discovered that the new spider wire glo-vis braid is florescent, and works great in the black light at night.  they also tout it to be invisible in the water.  it is the smoothest braid that i have seen.  it comes through the guides as quiet as mono.  stands up very well to our rocks.

I have yet to have a problem with breaking at my leader knot.  I am more likely to break closer to my lure than at the leader knot.  But then again, using 20# braid and 15# floro helps a lot too.

Throwing regular green Spiderwire braid, in water so clear I could see the bottom of a 20ft tall tree, sitting in 30 ft of water, I was still catching smallies and largemouth.
I haven't noticed any bad days in clear water just because of braid.
Yes, that is a gator in my profile picture, but I was trying to catch a bass, so it counts!
One 3ft long, 10 pound "Largemouth" for me.
