**after searching more realized I asked the same question last year but never made it to the lake. Def want to get up there this time!**

Did some google-ing and the only place that looked decent was called Cummings Camp off of Pickett Trail Rd. Does anyone recommend this place OR have any other places?? Going to take advantage of the Arkansas free fishing weekend and this lake is fairly close!!

Also any info as to-
Can I run the lake??
Basic areas to try- I see some docks and also some Creek arms

Thanks!!!!

I have a couple buds that went there Saturday, I sent them a message to see if they can logon here and help you out.  What is the Arkansas free fishing weekend, we're planning on going this weekend and I was planning on having to get a 3-day pass.

thanks I looked it up and it's this weekend...hopefully I can make it.  I talked to one of the guys that went up there last sat, they didn't run a lot as the boat rows/markers were confusing to them, but they stuck to grass, docks and bridge pilings..they caught a few, nothing spectacular tho.

Rudy. Head straight up LA 3 to AR 160. When the road makes a T head north on 160. I think it is the second left to and you will run into the boat ramp. The lake is full of stumps but you can run by the white and orange PVC pipes. Just be careful. As far as the bass fishing you won't have any problem finding targets to throw at. Caught a few off of docks and wood all were full of green crawfish.  I didn't catch any around the grass (reeds) but they should be there. Be on the lookout for schoolers. The shad were starting to surface last week but the bass weren't busting them yet. I personally haven't caught any size fish there but it's been good for bites.  Bream will attack your plastics.

Be sure to post a report when you get back. I've been wanting to go up there and fish this lake. I hear that Lake Columbia just north of there is an awesome lake with some real good fish in it.

Do not run the lake unless you know it. There are ALOT of markers missing.  The lake has pretty much been dead the past couple of years. Sure not like it used to be.  As far as Lake Columbia it is the Dead Sea now. It used to take 20-25 lbs to win a 3 hour evening tournament and now you can fish all day and your lucky if you get a bite. They had a 9 foot drawdown and pretty sure it got fished out when it was so low. It took almost 3 years for it to refill. The pads and vegetation are coming back strong.

John,
Yeah you weren't KIDDING about the missing markers... Erling was horrible about it BUT Columbia was actually WORSE because of the TREES IN THE BOAT ROWS... I almost hit several of em as I headed up towards the bridge. :-( Kinda wish I had seen this before I was on the water lol as I started at 0730ish.
