I'm good with May 11th I think lo gotta check with mommy and make sure kids don't have anything that weekend

caddyjoe77

thats quite a haul.  5.5 hours  ~roflmao  Never knew it would take that long to get from the southeast to the northwest of MO.

Ive never fished there, but what about somewhere a little more central, like stockton or truman?  I will drive the distance but thinking about folks a little more east of me.

yea I mean we could discuss some more lakes but something to remember guys. no matter where we move it its gonna make it farther for someone else. lo
ok what we'll do is start a Poll with some of the lakes that we have talked about here and in the past. poll will be open for a set period and once voting is over then that will be the lake for this years Rally. If we get enough involvement maybe talk about a late fall one.

caddyjoe77

Oh for sure, if the majority of the ones participating can get there in 4ish hours I think it would be a nice turn out.  Like I said I would drive 5, but I think some might have a limit due to having to get back for work..etc.

I would be in for this get together, but April 26 is a travel day to go to Table Rock for the NE Federation Nation Qualifier.

Mozingo is an awesome fishery (except for yesterday-for me).  1000 acres, lots of coves and creeks.
It is owned by the city of Maryville.  They charge a daily ramp fee (mentioned above).  The have 2 RV camping areas, a tent camping area (no electric), and have a bunch of cabins (that sleep 8-12).  They are hard to get, but a call might yield an open one.

Mozingo is at least 3' low right now. Yesterday water temps were 44-46 main lake, and I found 54° in some skinny water where a john boat would have trouble getting to.

The city charges $100 per permit.  In town, there are a few restaraunts and motels (HI-ex, Super8)
It is about a 10 minute drive from town to the lake.

Generally, it takes 18-22 pounds to win here.  Any cast can catch an 8+ pounder.  Straight south or north wind can make the lake really roll.  Full of Milfoil and timber.

Yep. I'll have to leave early Sunday evening. My vote is still for Mozingo May 11

Im ok with it being whenever. Honestly....we cant agree on a date now. Its getting damn close to a May timeframe as it is. I think we should nail something down in the next week. People need to plan no matter if time off work is a factor.

June...July...August...

I would expect this to be a thing where you take Friday or Monday off work. Im not telling guys how to take their vacation time, but if you want to enjoy this thing I would think you want the time to drive and relax and hang out. I will never do any tournament or drive time over 4 hours to squeeze something like this in. Just my opinion.

Team_Reeder20

Whenever we do it I'll be headed down that Friday and leave Sunday.  Just gotta know when so my wife can request not to work that weekend so we don't have to find a sitter on the weekend.

Wish you all hadn't made it clear up to the top of the state. That's about 7 - 8 hours for me. Bummer.
This is not a hobby for me, its a sick addiction. Now my son has the problem...isnt it great!!!

I would like to take this time to thank Bass for biteing my lures and bringing me joy.

Mike Bush

There is a poll for the lake.

The one lake...Thomas Hill is more on the east side of the state...about 1.5 hours from StL. It would shave at least 2 hours off the drive compared to Mozingo.

Ok we are goin with Mozingo lake. Now we can start getting the date set. I'm thinking maybe sept? What are y'all thinking.

Mike Bush

Hold on now....we only had 6 votes total? Thats it?

I say lets get some real votes in. 6 votes isnt even close to a rally. I can get 4 guys to meet at a lake on any given weekend from here.
