I just returned from Miami.  My wife and I went there to meet with Team Fast Cat and let me say that I am more than a little impressed!   ~c~

I saw how the boats are built and let me tell you, Fast Cats are built to last.  The design is like no other bassboat on the market, the construction methods and attention to detail are second to none!  AND, I got to see my boat in the plant, I feel more like a kid at Christmas now!

To make the whole trip even better, I got to meet Brent and FastCatFire.  These guys made me feel like I've known them for years, we went fishing in the Glades and even caught some bass.  For a frozen-north boy like me, it felt great to be back on the water, casting and occasionally catching.  To have my best friend (Janet, my wife), FastCatFire and his wife along made the day even better. :roll2:

One of the high points of the trip was when Brent took me for a "stroll" down the canal in his twin 300 powered Fast Cat! The accelleration was like nothing I've EVER experienced on the water and it was really cool to watch the GPS nudge up into TRIPLE-DIGITS!!   :shocking:  We reached 104.3, numbers like that to me usually are associated with a radio station, not the speed of a boat!   lo

The time I spent there was far too short  :'(, and now I cannot wait until my boat is done so I can head back, get to know my new boat and spend more time with the team.  Jerry and Errol have probably forgotten more about boat performance than I'll ever know, and when these guys voice an opinion, you can rest assured that I'll be listening with both ears open.

To say that we had a great time is an understatement.  We had so much fun, it had to be illegal!   PoPo

Steve it is great to hear that you had such a great time! Mike and I had the pleasure of riding in Brent's boat while he was at Okee and I just want to confirm that the Fast Cat is one heck of a ride. It can sail over rollers that most bass boats can't even sneak a peak at and the cornering abilities of this boat are absolutely incredible.

I bet you will be pacing the floor waiting for your boat... just like a new dad waiting for his first baby to be born ;)

Laurie,

As a father of five, and grandfather of two, I feel kind of qualified to speak on that.  This is WORSE!!! :roll2:

I've had the pleasure of being in many different fishing boats, both conventional and high performance and man, that Fast Cat just blows away everything that I've experienced!

At 80 mph, the Cat felt as stable as most boats running 55 mph, and at higher speeds, the only difference I noticed was that it just got harder to breath!   lo

Unfortunately, we didn't get any rough water to see how it really handled, but based on my experiences, and the fact that everything I was told by Team Fast Cat was true, I have no reason to worry about that aspect of the boat either.

Fishing in it was awesome!  We had four people in the boat, all fishing from one side and there was no list to the boat!   :shocking:  When other boats ran down the canal, I never felt like I'd be pitched from the boat, it wiggled a little bit and settled down immediately.

Color me impressed, and also impatient!   ~an~

Steve,
What a good time we had. It was a pleasure spending time with you and your wife. Not only was the fishin fun, weather was awesome, food was fantastic and that smile on your face after the speed run was priceless! Lookin forward to the next visit. ~c~

Oh, believe me, the pleasure was all ours my friend (and that's how I think of you and your wife).

Now, I need you to put the spurs to Jerry and Errol to get the boat done.  I'm looking forward to experiencing MY boat and the chance to get it a little salty too!

Look out Florida, I'm coming back!   :roll2:

Yeah!  Where were ya?   >:(  It's not a problem though, I'll be back in sunny Florida just as soon as my boat is done! ~c~

I'm just not looking forward to the 1,704.21 miles from my house to the Rigging Shop to pick up the boat.   :'(

I'm hoping that it'll be sometime near the end of this month!   ~c~  So keep that time kind of clear.  Troy will be able to tell you more about when it'll be done.

I actually got off the phone with Jerry from Fast Cat this morning.  He's hoping that my boat will be out of the glass shop this week and over to Erroll for rigging!   ~c~

But it's still looking like the end of the month.....    :'(
