It is time to start planning our 3rd annual UB get together.  Baron will be headed to East Toho in January.  They have or will be soon changing the name of the place we stay for the rally...the new name is Boggy Creek Resort and RV Park.

The last two years, we have held the rally in March.  I checked the moon phases, the dates of a full moon are February 14 and March 16...if that sways your thoughts on a rally date.

Hopefully we'll have a great turnout, it is loads of fun.  The accommodations are really nice.

Please use this thread for date selection and thoughts on the rally.

I know you guys always have a great time at this event. One day Laurie and I are going to show up for some serious hawg hunting :-* Hopefully a date can be set soon, I know it's hard to get everyone involved but the sooner a date is picked the better.

So all you Florida, Georgia, Alabama boys jump in and start throwing dates out there :-*

Is this rally only for boaters or are non-boaters invited also.  If non-boaters are invited, how do you decide who will be fishing with each other. Also, is that a one day thing or a two day.

The rally is a weekend event.  Most folks arrive on Friday and stay until Sunday.  In the past, we haven't had a lot of empty back seats in boats...but if someone with a boat is coming alone then I'm sure we can work out something.  Hopefully lots will post here and we can get this going.

Sure wish I would have made it last year.  Im a thousand miles away now.   :(   I am going to try to make the Guntersville one though when that date gets nailed down.  Jim

I should be able to make it this year. Either date is fine.

I would love to come this year, I missed it last year. The only problem I have is the boat issue. My boat doesn't have the power to pull that off. I only have 2 trolling motors. If someone is willing to let the Gambler in the back, I would be glad to meet up. I would chip in for gas and whatnot.

What a good weekend that would be. Fishing the weekend of March 15&16, then my anniversary the 17th! Its just like when I got married 2 years ago!

My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

FlatsNBay

I will have a spare spot in my boat. I may only come over for 1 day though.

Which day are you going Flats?

~cf

I'm not sure. It will depend on which days are chosen.

Good Morning Everyone.  Been fighting with snow, wind, ice storms, power outages, and everything else here in Northern NY.  Bad weather hit us earlier this year then normal.  Finally am caught up, power is back on, and starting to get things packed and ready for the long trip to Florida.

One of the highlights of the time I spend in Florida has been getting together with the guys and gals from UB.  Each year we get more people to come over and the management and staff of the Boggie Creek Resorts go out of their way to come up with cabins and RV sites for those who need it.  They really set a nice table for all of us last year and provided desert.  Have talked with our hosts and they are looking forward to serving us again this year.

Hopefully we will get a lot of people interested.  Mike and I are going to check out the fishing ahead of time and with the moon lining up at the right time this year we may have a shot at some big bass.  Got to get the big bass pool started!  ;D

Here is a pic of the guys that were able to make it to the dinner last year.

Mike and I are very flexible on the dates.  What we wanted was as much feed back as possible from each one of you.  We want the best turn out possible and will work with everyone's schedules to try to have a date when the most people can make it.   ~gf

I only have to worry about when I am going to Disney for my wife's 30th. If I know soon enough for this trip I can plan around this trip. I really want to do this this year since I missed it last year. Late February maybe? 15/16 is full moon.

Was actually hoping that after how much fun it was the last couple years that more of the Florida UB members would get involved with this.   :)  Remember this is not limited to just Florida UB members, any UB member is welcome that might be in the Central Florida area.  ;D

Maybe with the Holidays it is too much to think about right now?  :-\

Will keep working with posts and open to any ideas as to how to get the word out to as many others as possible.   :-*

I plan on attending and will check my work schedule this weekend and post a few dates that I am off.

Okay I am off the following weekends in March:

14-16th and 28-30th

I am looking forward to some water time, hopefully weather is in between the last few years lol we had super-hot the first year then cold and super wind last year lol  I am also happy because I have a bigger better boat and that nasty grass won't be as much as a problem.

My offer still stands on fishing Kissimmee or Okeechobee one year.  East Toho has been fun, but a change would be fun as well.  I have stayed in Okeechobee at Rowland Martin and it was slightly better than the lodging at East Toho, also the Tiki bar has great food.  Just an idea for next year...

Anybody needing a seat? I'll check with the wife and see if see will be attending.. So far my back seat is free.  I ask we split the room cost since there are two beds if somebody wants to do that?

Gambler? I know we have been talked about fishing together for a while lol you can share my back seat both days buddy.

Just some more info for the not so sure guys.

The site has ramps, RV parking, and cabins.  The cabins are basic standalone hotel rooms with two beds.  Boat parking is plenty and each cabin have outside power outlets near the boat parking to charge up.  In the middle of the park is decent size pond that I have caught fish out of.  They have "no fishing" signs up however that is to keep non people staying in the park from fishing it.  Honestly I have caught more bass in there than on Toho lol probably due to weather lol The place also has a "general store" type little shop.  They have a few fishing items as well.  Attached to that is a restaurant/bar.  They have excellent breakfast and decent burgers.  In the past we arrive, all meet.... bull crap and look at each other's boats and converse.  We usually fish on Saturday and Sunday and have a dinner on Sunday night all together.  Most of us tended to eat breakfast as well together before launching.  It's a good time with great people I assure you.  I have had a great time two years in a row even if I didn't have much fishing luck.

Also not too far away (since near Orlando area) is other night life if you're bored and of course a Bass Pro... lol the only other place I have been to up there lol

FlatsNBay

I forgot what you all did last year,.....was there a friendly tournament on one of the days?

Looks like we will have at least 2 boats with empty spots (West and I) so we should be able to accommodate some non boaters.

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of the guys and catching some fish!!
