Michigan is further North and East from me Mike...I feel for them Michiganders...it's 32 and snow here in Indiana...gotta be worse in Michigan.

Mike Cork

Didn't you once say you get most of your snow from their lakes lo

Man it is going to be 78 degrees here this weekend, I wish I could share it with you all  8)  ~sun  ~sweat  ;PEP)

I haven't reached retirement age yet Mike...I'm still open to the concept of being adopted. lo

Mike Cork

Well if I could guarentee I could take care of you I would send a plane ticket...... But we might have a problem with the taxes :roll2:

Tell you what, when we both get retired we can work out a deal south in the winter north in the summer ;)

Its not the snow that get me its that hard stuff on top of the water. If the boat goes in I fish, been there done that, snow just gets everthing wet when I get home. We will fish till X-mas if the water does not freeze up. That hard stuff is for your drink not under your feet. Right now it is a cool 24 degrees,  the lakes are frozen and the bass wait my return. Any one want to join me when the ice goes out?? the only thing is we don't tell the DNR we are bass fishing, its what ever is in season till 6/28/05
then watch out!

I remember fishing Lake Hamlin (Ludington) one year a week before the opener...and the place where I was staying a guy came into our channel and asked if we had a bait shop nearby...I pointed it out to him, then he started braggin about the giant bass he was catchin...said he had 4 bigguns' in the livewell already but ran out of roaches...so he goes to the bait shop and gets more roaches...musta bragged to the bait shop owner too, cuz when he got to the end of the channel to enter the lake there were 2 DNR boats waitin for him...later that day we found out the confiscated his boat, gear, trailer and vehicle....

Too high a price to pay for a little early season bass fishing in Michigan. ~shade

Was born here in the Midwest, moved to Arizona (where as you say, you can fish all year), moved back to the Midwest...

It's pretty nice out in Arizona, fantastic fishing and all, but to tell you the truth, I missed the changing of the seasons...nothing like the refreshing feeling of Spring in the Midwest, and definitely nothing as rejuvenating and relaxing as the crisp air of Fall and watching Jack Frost do his magic by painting all the trees in gold, rust, orange and various degrees of red.

I'll stick to having four distinct seasons...it makes you appreciate so much!

Da FISHINKING

Man I couldn't agree with you more. I wish California had seasons other than Sun and Rain...oh my bad we have earthquake season too..haha. The whole seasons issue is why the wife and I are talking of moving towards the east.

I agree once you see the four seasons you would miss them if you leave. Would not move south or west but would visit in the winter.
I here they catch big bass out west or is that all the sun getting to them. I have heard that to much sun is not good for you, it fryes your brain cells and you start seeing thing.

I am from North Carolina.  I am located about 20 minutes from Raleigh in a small town by the name of Clayton.  The only problem with living in NC is the weather during the non summer months.  In march or April here, it can be 80 degrees one day, then the next day it may not make it much past the 40's.  I love it though, and it has some great lakes.

Thanks, Richard Cooper

Richard Cooper I know what you mean about the weather fluxes, they always make me have sinus problems to, I am such a wreck :roll2: Anyway thanks for posting. If you get a chance check out the fishing reports for your area. Someone was in there the other day looking for information on one of the lakes, I think he was going to visit it later this spring. Maybe you would happen to be close.

Look forward to chatting with you around the site, thanks for signing on ~c~
