Hey Ya'll, Sorry I haven't gotten back to my messages. Just got over the flu. Orange lake went almost dry two years ago but its back up now thanks to all those hurricanes we had. I've been there several times and the fishin is great. My boat got stolen so I've been fishin from the piers mostly. The cats and bream have been biteing good.

Writing from the currently very cold state of Michigan. Ready to get the temps up and the ice off from the lakes!

Just bought my first bass boat about 4 weeks ago so I no longer have to use my fathers (and I have a very understanding wife!)

I would also like to thank Mike Stevens for the post on redoing your bass boat carpet! Thanks Mike it helped a ton. I was going to try to post a pic of a bass I got a master angler award from the Michigan DNR this past year but computer isn't loving me right now.... 6lb's for the state of MI is good enough for me!

God Bless

Mike Cork

Yitbos78, 6 pounds from any state is good enough for me  ~c~ That is a great catch anywhere you are fishing. Hopefully you can get it up loaded we would love to see it. You might try the photo gallery it is pretty easy, if you get it posted there swing by and let us know so we can check it out.

Congrats on the boat  ~c~ Your first boat is always the best and becomes part of your fondest memories. Michigan brrrr, January is half over so it won't be too much longer. It would drive me nuts to have a new boat and not be able to use it.

Mike did a great job with the article about boat carpet. Turned out really great. So what kind of boat did you get?

I got a 1989 Ranger 373... needed a little tlc....redid the carpet, having the seats recovered right now....clear coat and everything else was near perfect. 2 new fishfinders as well and I am good to go.

Going to try the pic again. My sister took the pic with a regular camera. Just took a picture of the picture with my digital.

My old man had a 373 and he loved it. In fact he had that but up until about two years ago and I think he actually shed a tear when the new owner pulled it out of the driveway  :'( He got him a new ranger though and all is good again.

Now that is a horse of a fish. Congrats ~c~ I would definately take that any day. What did you catch her on?

I actually got it on a Schuberts salt and pepper tube bait with an 1/8 oz gamakatzu tube bait hook. Caught it about 10-15 min before we were going to head in. I wish it had been a tourney night. I had 17 pounds of fish in the boat myself that night (5 fish limit)!

Mike Cork

Thats a 3 pound average for the rest of them. Awesome ~c~ Don't it always seem to work out that way though, slay them on a non tournament day. Hey I will take a stringer like that anytime I can get it. Great Job ~c~

Yitbos78, good typing with you!! I look forward to hearing about how the new boat works out. If you have any questions about it drop by the Boat Ramp forum and the folks in there will gladly answer any questions you might have.

I will be watching for more hawgs and fishing reports in the Michigan section of the board. Good luck and like I always say "Get the Net it's a Hawg"

Thanks all, I can't wait to get back on that lake this summer for some more great tubebait action!!! It has been killing me with all this snow. We got another 7 inches today of that terrible white stuff  >:(

I live in the muddhole state of Illinois, the reason I say that is I go to Minnesota once in a while where you can see 15 ft deep into the water.
This is a great site, I have been here less than a week and have allready been invited to go fishing, and everyone has made me feel right at home.
Thanks to everyone involved with this site for making this possable. may god bless you with lots of 10# ers

Lipripper
