I have been trying to get caught up all day so I can check to see how the fishing trip went a couple of days ago... I am almost there and will for sure be checkin' to see how things are going

The Land Of Lincoln.....Hint, we hosted well known gangsters like Al Capone, who was chased and hunted by Elliot Ness!!! This state is also known for ripping your clothes off your body while you walk down the street.  The wind here is called the Hawk, or Razor Blades with wings.....   When you come here you may think it's a STATE of mine, but not really, you can have Illinois any time you want.....

JoDA, I spent some time in Illinois during my technical training, I know what you are talking about with that wind, but the thing I remember the most was how cold it could be. 10 degrees with a 40 mph wind is almost unbearable, but our squad leaders seemed to think it was just a walk in the park

Hey Mike, Put it this way, if I don't get reassigned there I will be turning over the reigns to the young troops and retire. I see you said you were in Illinois, Chanute? I was there in 85 also but being from the midwest I was used to the wind.

I was right behind you in 88, hydraulics troop. That means you are right on the bubble to retire, I still got a couple and they nailed me for manditory shirt duty. So we will be headed to Keesler for a couple years and like you looking for reassignment back to Louisiana.

I am an AGE troop, I feel your pain on Keesler, I wasn't to impressed. But I am not into the gambling or beaches though. It might have grown on me if I had more time there, I was just there to go through the Academy.  I guess you will be selling the bass boat and buying an off shore rig. (JK) Whatever you decide to do the Shirt duty will surely help your AF career.

Sell the bass boat  never. I do plan on trying some of the gulf fishing but I have a buddy stationed there that grew up in the area. No he is a die hard bass fisherman like myself but his family has all the necessary tools to play in the gulf 

The acadamy was my first taste of the area also, and it was ok I love the buffets but I can get that here. The wife loves the gulf and the beaches so that is going to be the best part of the assignment, she has always wanted to live on the gulf. Neither of us gamble so there is no attaction there, shoot on a military pay you just can't afford to gamble, I love a nickle dime quarter poker game that lasts all night though

I'm with you on the all night nickle, dime, quarter poker games.  We just had one about a week ago and  I probably won 10 bucks.  Where else can you play all night for 20 bucks. (unless it's a small bass tournament)
