Another fisherman from Indiana here...

I live down in the Southewestern corner of the state in Evansville in the land of reclaimed strip mine pits!   ;D

My parent's property even ends at the edge of one of these well-stocked ol' pits, so I don't have to go far to catch fish.  Their neighborhood also has a fishing pond so it makes it easy for my mom to take her granddaugther fishing.

Thanks guys!

I'm an hour and 45 minutes west of Louisville, but my company is HQ'd in Louisville so I'm there at least every other week.

Planning to buy a set of chest waders and a two or three piece rod to keep in the trunk of the car.  There are a few nice parks in the Louisville area with fishing ponds.  Just have t buy the KY out-of-state license first!

I used to love to get out and wade for bass, I always thought there was nothing better than fighing a big ole bass and then have it go between your legs  ;) but then I moved to Louisiana and there as just a few to many critters in the water around here with big ole teeth :shocking:

Picked up a Shakespere UL IM6 rod and a reel (but I don't remember the model) today at the WM in Vincennes today.  Spooled it up with 4lb mono, but will switch it over to a non-braided superline in the future.  Also picked up a few new lures since they had lures my local stores don't carry.  I'll post a review later after I get some more time with the rig.

I'm surprised that nobody from Iowa is on the board.  Years ago I sold in that state and they have some serious bass fishing!

BoilermakerFan...you fish Sullivan? dynamite for big bass in the Fall...Lake of the Seven Springs isn't far from you either, that's where the State record bass of 14lbs, 12 ozs. was caught...Deams Lake in New Albany area is good too...and let's not forget the mighty Little Blue River loaded with smallies!

BoilermakerFan

I haven't made it up to Sullivan, it's just out of my sales territory and it's hard to get that far away on a weekend.  I'll have to find a customer in Vincennes that fishes it and make it a "sales call."   ;)

The Little Blue River?  Or the Blue River?  We canoe the Blue River, but the Little Blue River is more like a ditch and is almost dry during the summer.  I haven't fished the Blue though, always doing other things  ;PEP) when canoeing it with friends...  I'm actually trying to organize a canoe trip for customers on the Blue this Fall since the weather didn't cooporate this Spring

I pass Deams Lake all the time when I drive from Louisville up to Salem along US 60.  Then I pass Patoka on the way home to Evansville.  There are some good lakes north of Tell City (just south of I-64) in the Hoosier Nat. Forrest too.  I'm ten minutes away from Blue Grass FWA and 40 minutes from Hovey Lake FWA.

A.M. unfortunately some clubs get to tight nit and it becomes very hard for someone new to get in. If you are interested you will find the right one before long. Can you do us a favor and spread the word about the site at your dog fights :-* We would love to get more folks from your area  :-* By the way do we have the lakes listed in your state in the fishing reports section :-\
