Fished from 9am-2pm.  WATER temps. 55—58. Water was stained not muddy. I caught 7 total. 4 overs 2 unders and 1 slot. Rattle trap was most productive bait. Grass in 4-6feet held the bigger fish. If u catch one keep fishing that area. More fish may be present.

Nice catch Brad!  I can still make a spot for you in the duck blind if you decide to give the bass a break.  ~c~  The fish will still be there in January.

I'm hitting cross lake for my first time tomorrow morning. I am putting in at public launch by ford park. Any suggestions? Willow point looks enticing

Thanks for the tip, ill give it a try next time. Would have tried it this time but read post to late. Anywho I put in at ford park launch at 630am started around the launch and had some nibbles on brush hog but it wouldn't take so I pulled out a Pearch jig rig I had and it took my cork under but I couldn't hook it so I moved on. Went to squirrel point and fished some rock bank, trees, and dock, no luck. Water temp was 61 and water a little stained. Cruised around to gum island and tried fishing it but a lot if salvania in some spots I would have liked to throw. Moved on to a dead Lilly pad point by Fleming park launch areas, fished it and still nothing. Checked out Fleming park boat row. Lots of fish action so I pulled out jig rig again, lots of leaves in row messed up my fishing presentation so moved on. By 11 the wind picked up out of NE and cross lake introduced me to some high rolling waves. I was ready to call it a day due to dangerous conditions, hit a couple of cypress trees by synch and caught a nice slot. Toughest day of fishing I've had in a long time. Wind and salvania made it tough, ill restratigize and be back at it

Brady,
Welcome to Cross.  Next time look for some grass, that may help.  Wackyman.

On these mornings that start off a little cool, its not a bad idea to work rocks, concreate sea walls, and even boat launches. They hold the heat a little longer and sometimes the fish will stack up around those areas.
