It won't be long and I'll need some more jig colors. Don't really need more jigs since I switched over to Nutech. It's a design flaw in their business model, you never need to replace the jig....

Anyway I'm curious what colors most of you use when fishing a jig. I normally keep it very simple. Black and blue, black and red, or black brown and amber. Looking at the NuTech website, they have some really cool colors that look like they would smoke some bass.

When to you through these various colors?

Missouri Craw, Candy Craw, PB and J? Check out these colors guys and let me know what you think? what conditions would you use them in?

we have recently added some additional skirt colors.  they are white, chartreuse and white, chartreuse, green pumpkin blue, and blue gill.  the blue gill is basically green pumpkin blue with a bit of orange.  the blue gill also imitates the crawdad color right now here on table rock.  also, a heads up on new products that we will have available in about four weeks.  we will have a 3/16 Nujig, and will be introducing the first of a NuTech football line with a 1/2 oz. model.

we have also added 5 options of blades for the SpinJig.

I bought six jigs back in the spring and haven't lost a single one. Most of the paint is gone from one of my black and blue jigs but the fish don't seem to care. I just ordered some new heads and a green pumpkin and blue jig last Friday so I will try that color this weekend. I love the Missouri craw and black and blue.

merc1997

the new skirts options are available and shown with the jigs.  we have been waiting for our photographer to get loose to shoot some pics for us, but he is harder to catch than a 10 lbers. ~roflmao.  we do have one other new skirt called fire tiger that we have in hand, but do not have it up yet, and have two other colors in process.

It's hard to beat firetiger colors for a swim jig in murky water. ~c~

PB&J and Candy Craw have worked particularly well for me at Clayter and on the New River.

That bluegill color looks great!! And the blueshad color has a different hue than most of the other blues you see. After my success last night I'll have to order some more jigs!! Thanks Bo!!

Really excited to learn about the 3/16 oz jigs coming. I have had to move to finesse presentations on Lake Conroe recently.

many people are discovering that the missouri craw will catch bass in any region on the country.  it is a great night time color too.

I fish the Missouri Craw color combination a lot. Whiskey is another color I really like for our area. I got a close up look a your NuTech  Jig a few days ago. Very nicely made. I've got a night jig called "Midnight Magic", that is a four color combo. Real good theory on why it works. I'll try to post the skirt for you.

Any updates on the new nigs merc?  I saw the football head video you guys produced.  Would love to see  higher res pics of it.  Also I believe you mentioned a slightly slimmer head profile designed for plastics as well?

Waiting to place my order so I can get some of those new goodies!

Can't wait! Football jigs as snag proof as the original?

Mr1ply

question for those of you who have used these. do you find yourself catching weeds with the head of the jig?
I have a handful of Terminator jigs with the eyelet horizontal like these, and they catch more weeds than fish. The weeds are always caught on the head of the jig. However, all my vertical eyelet jigs stay weedless 99% of the time.

What little weeds I fish around here I have not noticed it being a problem. If I drag it through the slimey slop then yes it does catch that.

Speaking of which ... I'm planning on starting doing some nujig night fishing as well, from a boat ramp where from I can access shallow rocky bottom water and deeper vegetation bottom, any advice u guys can give me? intuitively I would go with a dark 1/2oz nujig, black and blue ideally with a craw black and blue trailer, and would tend to cast on rocky bottom and slowly bounce it from rock to rock, would that be the right approach?
English is not my first language so please, excuse my french

I use that approach pretty much. But if there's bass there and they aren't responding then I switch up the retrieve. Sometimes I will slowly pull my jig along the bottom and if I come in contact with anything, I'll shake my rod tip a little until the jig comes over or off of whatever it was making contact with. I get most of my strikes that way

I fish some extremely thick vegetation and rarely have a problem with this, definitely much less than a standard cross eye jig.

Keep in mind that with a vertical eye jig, your pull points are way off and you're jig can rotate during hook set causing corner of the mouth snags that are easy to throw.

i did not know this thank you. Is there a way to combat this?

I got too frustrated with the horizontal bringing in weeds every cast so I went to the vertical and almost eliminated that. Could that be jig head style related more so than the eyelet orientation?
