Due to having 5 days off over the Chuseok (Thanksgiving) holidays, I had to do the family stuff, but I managed to squeeze in a day on the Nakdong River near Busan to run the boat ahead of next weekend's tournament at Andong Lake.

I took my daughter with me and we were on the water by 7:30am. It was nice and cool running up the river, but it didn't last. By 9:00am it was really hot and sunny (unusually hot for the end of September).

Anyway, my daughter didn't catch any fish this time mostly due to the wind and the fact that her only reel broke, so she wasn't too pleased. She did hook into a couple of bass, but they came off at the side of the boat.
For me, I only took two rods with me for this trip, one for crankbaits and the other for jigs (the two techniques that I have very little confidence with, the aim of this was to try and catch some fish on these "nemesis" lures. And, it worked........I got 5 bass on various crankbaits and six bass on rubber jigs with craw type trailer worms. The bass were mostly small in size, but I caught two decent bass on the jigs and the biggest bass of the day on a mid-diving crankbait.

Sounds like a great day! Well except for the broken reel. Gonna have to teach her how to use your rigs  ;) Thanks for the report ~c~

Thanks Mike.
She has only been fishing with me a handful of times and she is starting to get very good with a spinning reel, but I think she is still a long way from learning to throw a baitcaster and that's all I had with me on the day.

Steve,

Thanks for sharing the day with us ~shade  It's always great when the kids are along and are able to hookup with a fish.  Its never to early to start them out using a bait caster  ;)
