butterfly koi crankbait 6-19-2013

I know cross lake has some koi swimming around, I've seen them in the shallows....So I decided to paint up a koi colored crankbait with lots of feather and maribou on the rear hook to simulate a butterfly koi. Just thought I'd try a pattern that I haven't seen on here yet or in the stores.

looks nice. theres lots of goldfish up here in lake st. clair, wonder if that bait or something similar would work on the bass or other fish

The main forage for big bass in most lakes is carp, so I can imagine that this bait will hit a home run for you. Guys have been smashing the monsters throwing the Deps slideswimmer 250 in flash Carp.

Rock on, I love it... even if it catches ZERO fish, its a sweet lookin bait!

H8R and Facepunch...thanks for the comments. I took the bait out to the lake today fishing it around the many cypress trees on Caddo Lake here in La. on the Tx./La. border. Only managed one bite on it today and it was a drum. Fished various baits today on only putting one fish in the boat and it came on a soft plastic stick bait walking it across some lily pads. But going to still use this crankbait in the championship tournament on that same lake this weekend.
