Two Saturday's ago had my first Club T of the year on Lake Webster. Left the house and was less than 2 miles from my buddies house to drive down with him and SLAM! A guy ran a red and I stuff him, totaled my truck  ~xyz Great start to the tournament day! Got AAA to tow the truck and my buddy picked me up, got to the tournament a half hour late unfortunately, but at least the rain stopped about 5 minutes before we got to the ramp  lo Hit the water with a slow bite due to the cold front, fishing a jerkbait and jig most of the day. Hour after we got on the water, the trolling motor suddenly died  ~rant Just one of those days. Took the whole motor apart and somehow one of the wires had come loose, but lost another 30 minutes of fishing due to that. Me and my boater each had 2 bass, the biggest of our 4 was my 3.98, all 4 came shallow on jerkbaits.

Got out again on Wednesday the 24th on one of my honey holes in Northeast Mass, fairly slow day surprisingly with the air temps steadily in the 70's the past few days and the water temp in the upper 50's. Caught a few on jigs in shallow wood, biggest was around 3.5.

Hit the same pond this past Saturday morning with the full moon, and there were a ton of fish up shallow and some on beds. They didn't seem to be locked on to the beds, if you could see them, they wouldn't sit on them. Biggest two I saw on them were ~4 and 6. Me and my two buddies caught a bunch of small fish though on a variety of baits up shallow on flats; spinnerbaits, jigs, swimjigs, MS slammer, fluke, senko, they were hitting everything. Biggest was around 3. Water temps were 61-63

Swapped to another pond around 3 PM and got a nice 4.78 pretty quick on a 9" MS slammer, but after that it was real slow; It had clouded in at this point and couldn't see if there were any fish on beds, but there were some empty beds around the shallows. Water temp was 62-64

Hit Foster's Pond in Andover on Sunday, my first time going there. Same deal as Saturday, tons of fish up shallow with some bedding but again not really locked onto the beds. Best two were 3.54 and 3.96, 1 on a Zoom finesse worm rigged wacky with a 1/16 oz weight fished up tight to the shore, which caught a ton of fish all day, and the biggest on the 9" slammer again. My buddy pretty much matched my numbers fishing senkos around small clumps of pads and a swimjig on the drop, but didn't get any big bites all day.

Yesterday I hit the same pond I fished Saturday afternoon, but this time sunny and I could see there were fish on beds, and a lot of them. Didn't see anything real big all day on beds,  biggest I saw was a 4 but her and the male looked like they were just getting ready to do their business, were side by side on the bed and took off as soon as they came into view. Caught one around 3 off of a bed, and a bunch of others all day on a hollow body swimbait, buzzbait, and Magnum fluke.

A descent last couple weeks but the big bite has definitely not been what it was a few weeks ago

Sorry to hear about your truck man  >:D  Despite your experience there Webster is a really good lake when the conditions are right. When i was fishing club tourneys I saw more than one 25 lb. sack come out of there, but that was mostly summertime, like mid-July to early August on an offshore bite.
Thanks for all of the posts that you have been putting up for our state board. I have been paying attention and taking notes. I know it is going to help me out so again thanks. Since I don't have a boat and am stuck fishing from shore I haven't had too much action worth reporting about this season, mostly just small fish. My buddy tells me that he has noticed that some of the bigger fish have finally started showing up on the beds so even though I can't see them from shore I know where they usually spawn on a few smaller bodies of water that I fish and some of those areas are reachable from shore. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck and keep the great info coming.  ~c~

Thanks man. Hopefully someday soon I can take you up on that. Been working 60-80 hours a week for a bit. Today is the first Saturday I have had completely off in about two months and I need to spend most of it catching up on family stuff that I had to let slide do to work.
