While searching for info on the Nitro Z series, I came across a post on another forum where it was reported that at a boat show the Nitro Rep let it slip that the 2014 models would be redone with new designs. No one seemed to be able to confirm this however.

Have any one you heard simular rumors?

Current plan is to buy this fall and was wondering if should wait until the 2014's come out and see if there is anything different.

Qiute a few views and no replies. Guess that means no one knows.

I bought my 1st Nitro in Jun 1999 love to watch the new lines hit the water just to see what they have to offer, this is just my thoughts on the subject with no knowledge on what they have planned.

From what I've seen the biggest change went from the old style pre 1999 to the 9 series as the 9 series and the Z series went hand in hand for the most part.  The jump from the 9to the Z line at 1st was a weight reduction and using hydrodynamics to form the hull.  KVD had issues with delimitation in the 1st few runs,,,,, Nitro fixed the issue & Z line is if I remember right a bit more weight than the 9 series was "in the 929 and Z 9"

The other big change was removing the 19ft boat the 901 and making it a 20 Z -8 the biggest difference was for that size boat with the 901Max HP was 200 but with the Z 8 it jumped to a 250

Watching boat sales and talking with folk in the know I.E. owners of Ranger and Triton Nitro has a huge chunk of the new fiberglass chunk of the market more than most would ever believe.  However new boat sales have been down all across the board nationwide.

It would only be a guess but I would think Nitro will be looking to reduce price yet again and bring out a 19ft boat or maybe just trim some of the bells and whistles off the Z-8 & Z-9 with a non Z line of more affordable boats.

Nitro also brought out a new Walleye boat the NITRO ZV 21 for 2014 but has been fished on the trail for the past year or so.  This may be a great bass boat as well for the angler that spends a lot of time on big water like Toledo or pick a northern lake LOL

It would be cool to see something a little more on par with Triton XS series. But, I think they would have to maintain the current line as it pairs up bette again the Pro series and the Ranger 100s. At least in the 18' range which is what I have looked into the most. I'm not sure maintaining 2 lines fits with the Nitro business model though. It's more expensive to maintain two lines.

I would certainly be interested in any changes.  Thinking about getting a new toy next year myself??  With the package deals it's very tempting to stick with the Z9 or whatever comes next.

Anyone know when the new models for the upcoming year are normally broughtout? I know that Harley Davidson does theirs in July but not sure about the boat industry.

I wish they would.  Not that there is anything wrong with the current models, but new models are always good.  I'd look pretty hard at a Z8 when I decided to get a new boat.

Heard a new boat design was in the werx through the pro grapevine

last week a TV show host who has a new boat coming to him in June swore it was not a 2013 but a 2014 model with new changes that Nitro wanted to premier on TV?

he'll have in JUNE,  waiting to see if this is for real or not as I believe it's going to be the old model which is highly due for a major revamp to compete with Phoenix, Triton and the new Z520C  which is absolutely incredible!   but not for $75 g's

local dealers know nothing of any changes for 2014 and all new boat models are Normally/usually released in late Aug/Sept for fall ordering
