I think that I am going to get in line for one....I can turn my 24 Fury to the limiter and my 25 Tempest takes me back down to 5400 rpm.  I am hoping that the lighter weight and new technology on the 24 Pro-Max will be my gap filler and be the perfect prop.   :shocking: :shocking:Hey I can always dream.... ~roflmao ~beer~

You could always send one of the others into get worked for less money and probably better performance.  This is the first I've head the new mercury prop though

You are probably right....but it is something new and not near as expesive as a new boat.... ~roflmao ~roflmao

I have thought many times about sending props to Mark but always back out.......wanted a 24.5 Fury or a 24.5 Tempest.  About 300.00  Hoping the Pro-Max will fill the billet.

Looking like the price will be around 650 - 700.00...I can always take a little loss if I need to sell

yeah I'm kind of in the same boat.  I can turn a 25 tempest plus to 5850 so I'm afraid a 24 fury will be way to high but a 25 fury will probably be to low.  I just don't want to spend the money to get a prop worked or buy a new one.  Amazing the cost that kind of stuff.  I think I could run 70 consistently if I could get a little bit more bite out of that 25 tempest and keep my RPMS around 5600.  I'm running right around 68 right now with some change.  When I first got the boat I had it to 72, but haven't gotten close since then.  First year I had the boat it would run 69 and change anytime.  Its a 99 ranger R83 with an 01 175 merc EFI.

My way of thinking is sort of like...why spend 700.00 on a 350.00 prop and still have a 350.00 prop.  I f i buy the new Pro-Max and dont like it then I can still sell it for close to what I have in it.  I think that it will run good for me with the 24 pitch.

I am running into the limiter with a 24 Fury and held down to 5400 with the 25 tempest.  68.6 is my best so far with a full load sand running a consistant 64 with two in the boat.

Elwood,

I think those prices are close to FURY MSRP.   If you can wait you will find one discounted early on IMO.  I don't know much about the prop.  Being four blade it should offer better hole shot and control at top end.  I'm hoping it's similar to other four blade props offering better bow lift to carry tournament load.

I got out today with my 24 tempest plus.  Didn't open it up.   That wasn't my goal.  Coming out of the hole I noticed prop slip and I need to plug the vent holes with smaller vented plugs.   I took them out and should have left them in.   ~b~  Live and learn.    Once I get that done I  think it will be the ticket.  Today in high sixy and and low 70 air temps going up and down I was getting 5 plus mph with the prop.  ~c~ ~c~ ~c~    The real test will be carrying the load with my bro and see how the teeter totter effect (balancing trim and WPSI ) for optimum bow lift throttling on up to WOT without any compromises (WPSI) at 3.25" below pad.

If this new Merc prop is all that and a bag of chips then my wallet will be lighter too.   ~shade ~roflmao

Traditionally,  24p four blade is equivalent to 25p three blade prop regarding RPMS.  Just a thought.

Hey guys help me out I'm running a 23p tempest on my Eyra with 150 XR6 it's 18' boat. Should I be running a 24 fury or tempest it's about time to start dialing in my boat.

I would trhink that you would get better performance out of the 24 Fury but it depends a lot on the condition and how strong your engine is runnning.  If you are turning the 23 to the limiter or above 6000rpm then I would think that the Fury would do you some justice.

Major plus to what Elwood said.   That's what I would do.
