I'm getting ready to Ram mount a 2nd unit at the bow   I think I have 2 choices , move my TM pedal back 4" and mount the ball dead center in the front deck here

With this mounting location u may be fighting my TM cable some, but am thinking that when I eventually install the recessed pedal tray I will cut out or cover up the holes with it.
Or I could mount it on my front deck , step area here

It will be more to the right but appears to be the better of the two locations, if I mount it here I will hinder stepping off and on at that location.  What do you guys suggest ?

On the carpet just to the right of the pedal.

Ram ball does not have to be mounted on flat deck can be on slant or side. Just make sure it will clear all the parts of trolling motor and still have room for bow light.

I agree.  Anywhere to the right of TM pedal.

I agree with everyone else. Mine is mounted to the right of the TM pedal.

For now I went ahead and mounted it to the center of the floor where the TM pedal was before. Once I install the recessed TM tray I can move it then cause that whole area is full of FOAM !
That was the most tedious of jobs lol cutting out that stuff. I went through the front panel with a drill bit and just kept routing away the foam until I could get back in there far enough to install big finder washers and lock nuts.  Had to keep a shop vac on hand too.  I have considered one of those mounts that mount over the recessed tray once its installed   Ill have to look into that before I do it.  The center location for me works better because I normally fish of the left side , I always have , when the 7" was mounted to the left floor it was perfect there   But there was no way to do it with the 8". I just have trouble for some reason fishing off the right side , always wacking my windshield with side casts lol. I figure I'll work on that some and the foam will be easier to remove for the right side location through the TM pedal hole. Thanks guys !

There is a bracket available to span a recessed tray and you can use the RAM ball or just the unit gimbal for attachement. It is posted on another web site. You can use that before and after the tray installation.

That's the one I was thinking of Wayne. Thanks,  I had saw it once before and thought it might be perfect for what I need once I install the recessed tray.

Bigwrench, What are you going to do with that Zercom Clear Water Pro?

Those brackets look really sweet. I may have to look into getting on of those myself  :-*
