Have $6k. Can I get a nice Xpress/G3?

I have about $6k in cash to spend on a boat in the next month. Im looking at anything 17ft, no bigger. The lakes are small enough, and a 17ft would be perfect. I would really like to get a xpress, or G3. 90 horse or bigger. Maybe something around a 2005. Can $6k do it? Also seen most have yamaha motors. How fast can I get out of a 17ft G3/xpress with a 90? How are they on gas?

I would think you are close depending on year. Balancing the year and condition of the boat you'll surely find something that will be good for you.

So if I am reading it right, looks like I have average price of what a 05 g3 should cost. Doesn't have to be a 05, as long as its in good shape and runs good. I would go for a 2000 if it looks good and was garage kept, or at least taken care of.

Correct, however these are retail values. You may find a private sale for less. Xpress will retail slightly higher.

I picked up a alumacraft tex 2008, with 60 horse 4 stroke yamaha. Only in the water a handful of times. It's perfect for what I need. Quick enough to get around the gas lakes, and small and light enough for the electric only lakes I fish.
