Today is the opening of the 2013 Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing.  If you follow the Elite Series, it's fun to play Fantasy Fishing.  It costs nothing to play and you have a chance to win prizes from Bassmaster.

www.bassmasterfantasy.com

Click on the link and follow the instructions to create your entry.  Remember - you must pick a new roster for every tournament.  Bassmaster will send you a reminder.

After you create your roster,  you can join a group.  I created an Ultimatebass.com group which is listed under the private groups.  The password to join is: 2013.  So if you play,  join the Ultimatebass.com group and at the end of the season - we will see who the top dog is.

Last years winner was Troy Limmer.  He came in a remarkable 229 out of the entire nation.

The Ultimatebass.com winner at the end of the season will receive a prize TBD.

Just filled mine out, its going to be tough all the top guns are in the first bracket.

jocko

Yeah - the first bracket is all the best anglers - so the last bracket is people you've never heard of (those who qualified threw the Federation and College etc).  I'd like to pick all 5 from the first bracket - but its not the way it works.

Should be funny to see how many guys pick Jason Christie over the big sticks like KVD, Edwin Evers, ETC.   It's Christies home lake so he's got a leg up - but I don't believe he belongs in the same bracket as KVD and Evers.  I would have preferred to add him to my roster from the last bracket.  Who decides these brackets anyway?   >:(

truth2

Thats how they do it every time. Makes it more of a challenge that way i guess.

I took Christie for my first bracket guy. A lot of people talking about him like he is a second rate angler.

Mike Cork

You all passed up McClelland? humm my be a mistake but he's got a lot of time on it as well and proven history.

Anyway it's going to be interesting. :-*

Couldn't figure out what the "Ownership" percentage is for the anglers, anyone know?

Mike, I think that's the percentage of people playing that have that angler on their team.

Just did mine and I also to Christie and didn't think twice about it. I think it's funny when people act like he dont  belong. He has proven himself big time in FLW and bassmaster opens last year and it won't take long for people to understand how good he is

I agree Christie is a great angler and I chose him as well,  but I wonder how they decided to put him in bracket 1, when I bet other open winners are in lesser brackets.  Makes it interesting because it forces you to make a tough decision not to take someone like KVD.

You never know what KVD is capable of....  or maybe we do,  but I am going to take my chances on the local Christie - be it curse or not.

15 players already on day one - thats great!

TW already has 550.....

You can belong to several groups with the 1 entry -  I'm in 3 groups.  TW gives out some great prizes.

Yea I understand what your saying about him qualifying by an open but being in that first bracket. I guess they are just playing the home lake factor for him to be a favorite.

I've never done BASS fantasy before so it should be fun and I'm also in 3 groups right now

I was having a hard time choosing between Biffle and Evers so I with with KVD!!! lol.   ~b~

Bassmaster.com gave everyone vegas odds of winning. They put Christie pretty high up there. They did comment about him not having fished in a tournament this big before. I guess fishing in 4 FLW cups don't count as big tournaments.

Excellent - great turnout!

It helps to be in a small group like this,  because it can be depressing once the results are in and you see that you are 50% for the nation with 5000 people ahead of you,  but you might be in 3rd place for UB! - if we all suck at this together!

Having some Zapps Voodoo kettle chips with my lunch from NoLA,  so I may adjust my roster and put some voodoo on it.

I am surprized no ones talking about Biffle over Christie.  I think it's also his home lake isn't it? and he's won there.

Ah,  Biffle's home lake is Fort Gibson Lake in Muskogee,  so Grand Lake is not his home water - still he may fair well.

I am a firm believer in the home state curse:  http://www.bassmaster.com/news/curse-classic-local

Read this and you can conclude - Christie has some odds against him.

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of groups you can join?  I know last year when the press release for bassmaster fantasy fishing came out it stated there was no longer a limit to the number of groups you could join.  Now I am reading on the FAQ's on the bassmaster site that there is a limit of 3 groups, however it allows you to join more than 3.  I didn't see anything in the official rules.  Anyone have any insight on this?
