Our next event will be on Grand Bayou, Coushatta, on Feb. 9th.  Membership fees ($25/person) will be collected at entry, except for those that placed in the money at Cross Lake and had their 2013 membership fees collected from their winnings.  Hope to see everyone there!

I've had several emails and calls asking about the 7 Pound Pot...it's only open to those who fished our OPEN on Cross Lake, since you have to "have fished one tournament in the present year" to be eligible. The 7 Pound Pot stands at $130 following the Cross Lake event.

Also, we will be starting an optional "Total Weight Pot" at the Grand Bayou tourney. Cost will be $20/team for the entire year and winner will be the team with the most accumulated weight from Grand Bayou (2/9) - Red River (9/21) tournaments. Teams can get in at any time, but your total weight will start at the tournament you join this optional pot...so it would be to your advantage to get in as soon as possible. This pot will be administered by Ray Parish and he will have handouts at GB, explaining everything, so you and your partner can look it over and decide if you want to get in on it.

I'm looking forward to the tournament Saturday...I hope the big girls are biting.

Rule clarification please - Myself and my partner fished the open tournament on Cross. My partner is on call during the upcoming tournament and cannot fish Grand Bayou. I'm not allowed to have a guest fish with me for this tournament?

Here's the rule:
1. Club Membership is $25 per year. Each paid member is eligible for one guest per year. You cannot use your guest pass on your first tournament, you must have PAID for one previous tournament (Opens do not count as a paid tournament, unless you placed in the money and had membership fees deducted from the winnings). A guest may only fish one tournament as a guest. If a team with a guest places in the money, the guest will become a member and the membership will be deducted from the winnings.

Since you did not place in the money, at Cross, then you cannot use your guest pass for this event...he may fish with you, you both just have to pay membership at registration.

Ok, so my "guest" can fish with me if he becomes a member but he does not have to become my main partner? How does that work in a team tournament if my "real partner" will fish the rest of the tournaments with me.

Sorry, this is my first go around with Poorman's and I'm a little slow.... ~b~

You don't have to declare a partner, unless you want to get in on the optional Total Weight Pot (which is something new we're trying this season).  Everyone qualifies individually, meaning each member must get 6 events in to qualify for our Classic.  After you have fished one paid event, then both members get a "guest" pass and can have (1) guest fish with them (during the current season)without paying membership...but if a team with a "guest" places in the money, then membership is deducted from the winnings.  Check out our "rules" section of our website at www.LouisianaPoormans.com and it should anwser explain everthing, if you have any further questions I'd be happy to answer them.

We will be taking off in the order of drawn numbers, just like printed in the rules. I will position my boat out by the "no-wake" pole and have boats pass by, with livewells open, as I call out the boat numbers. If anyone leaves early, they will be DQed. When you launch and pick up your partner, just hang out between the ramp and the pole and I'll take everyone off in order starting at 6:45am sharp, because registration will close at 6:30am sharp...so get there early!

This was a bonus tournament. Totally unexpected. Jeff's shoulders will be very weak by the end of this year. I just hope I don't hold him back... Well except for Toledo...I've got a few fish waiting for us.... I hope!

Glad you whacked em Brad (with or without me).  Sorry I missed out.  I should be in for the rest of the year.

nice win, weather seemed to play a big role in this one. I can't say it hurt me cause I didn't do well pre fishing either. How did you catch your fish?

I'm not going to give details on how I caught them. I have a friend who is fishing a tournament out there next weekend. He shared some information with me so I am going to return the favor to him and hope he wins next weekend  ~shhh....sorry.
