All of Northern NY is covered in snow and ice.  It is time for watching fishing shows on TV and for the adventurous few maybe some ice fishing.  Perch and Northern Pike are the main focus for those who brave the single digit temps.

As for me?  I am in the middle of sorting and packing for my annual trip to Central Florida.  Boat and trailer are ready, truck has been checked out and is all set.  Going through all my fishing tackle and sorting out what I may need to catch a big one this year.

Looking forward to the 2nd Annual UB Florida get together with Mike Noble.  Hopefully the next report with be all about the fishing in Florida.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and the best of fishing for everyone.

Be safe in your travels. I can imagine how much of a hurry I'd be to get out of dodge but arriving safely to catch hawgs in Florida is the goal. Let us know when you get there. :-*

Thanks Mike....I never get in that big a rush as I have to drive about 8-10 hours just to clear most of the snow areas and mountains.  If things keep up like they are I might be able to leave before the end of the month.  Would not mind leaving this snow and cold a week or so early.

Be careful non the less, always got to watch out for the other guy as well.

Looking forward to your annual photo's from Sunny Florida

Just got everything confirmed.  Going to be able to leave out of here a week sooner on the 24th.  An extra week in the sun is not going to hurt my feelings one bit.  Hope to have a better year with the big bass then I did last year.  Caught a lot of good fish, but missed getting on the big bite.  My neighbor in the next cabin caught a 10, 8, and a several 6's.  Think it is my turn this year for that one over 10.

Well it's 35 today in Buffalo,NY High of 40 so not 1 snowflake to be found nor any ice anywhere in WNY. I know a few ice fisherman that are going bonkers so all I can do is bust thier stones because I hate cold weather of any kind I'm a 65-70 degree guy and that's perfect windows down, shorts and out on the Big Lake Erie for big ol smallies + the new state record smallie was caught this fall right in the area we always fish in but my guide took off to Fla too early ~xyz but what can I do I'm @ his mercy!! This is a very warm winter again for this area so I think he's gonna rethink his departure this yr.   8)
