I have a 2001 R81VS and a custom cover that covers the motor and boat.  I am looking at purchasing a power pole but I am not sure if I can still use the cover.  For those of you that have power poles, can you still use your custom cover?  Does the power pole stick out enough so that the cover is unobstructed?

In my case I have a Powerpole on a bracket between the motor and the jackplate and the clearance between the Powerpole and the transom is about 6 inches and cover still fits perfectly. I have a custom cover on my TR-185.

Edit; sorry, I didn't read your post correctly the first time, and my comments are for my Triton. However, if you mount it the same as I did you should have clearance.

I don't have a jack plate.

I dont think it will matter about the JP. Power Poles are at a slight angle regardless. My cover is custom as well, covers the motor, and no trouble with the poles.  I actually use one of the brackets to wrap for the straps.

I have a stratos with a custom cover. I also have a jack plate but I don't think the power pole will be in your way. The bracket for the power pole should mount between the transom of boat and engine bracket that aloes the pole to be out away from the boat.
