Okeechobee Questions

Is there anyone that could maybe pass along some info on places to stay and different guides on Okeechobee, We are planning a trip down there in March for a week and i would like to either hire a guide or get with a local for atleast one day to kind of learn the lay of the lake and how the fish act down there.
The wife and daughter will be going as well, as me and the son but the women want to make the trip over to the beaches while the guys fish, so it should be a Fun week.
Any info on the place and how it fishes in March would be Great Thanks in Advance for any help

We stay at the Roland Martin resort and marina, It is in Clewiston and is full service with a few different lodging choices,  they also have numerous guides. They have a good web page.

I don't use them myself, however everyone I have talked too say they are great.

Will you be bringing a boat.  The reason I ask is I live there and have been trying to learn the lake myself.   I haven't fished big O in march but if I do next year I can try to give you an update on the activity I have found.  Obviously if you are fishing with a guide they'll have forgotten more than I will know. Yes i will be bringing my boat, was going to hire a Guide for the first day and the next 4 or 5 days i will be fishing out of mine along with my son. Thanks guys
