Greetings

I finally got around to installing gas shocks in my rod boxes and back deck storage area.
I ordered the shocks from the Stratos factory in Flippin Arkansas you can however go to any parts store and pick some up.  There weren't any installation directions in the box and there won't be when you go to the parts store.  I went to one of the local marine dealerships and checked some of boats they had there and took some pictures and made some mental notes.

The tools I used to installed these were: Electric Drill; 5/32 drill bit (holes for inside top of box bracket); 15/64 drill bit ( holes for bottom bracket); stainless steel screws and nuts for bottom bracket; stainless steel screws with washers for top brackets.  The size and types of screws were what I just had on hand.  You can use any size you want.

For the rod boxes I checked at the dealership most were installed "Centered" in the box.  This was the way I installed mine.

This is the passenger side rod box.

This is the driver's side rod box.

The back deck was installed a little different.  I mounted the bracket on the right side and upside down under the lip due to the design of the lid.  The upper bracket was mounted normally.

If you're going to install these yourself I would suggest going and find a boat like yours and check out the installation.  There were several different way to do this from the boats I looked at.

Lookin' good, Donald!  Nothing like upgrades to build pride in your boat.   :)

Tks, its a lot easier putting the rods in now that I don't have to hold the lid open.
