I enjoyed the Caddo tournament, got to spend the day with my youngest daughter.  She stuck with it and finally caught a 13.9 inch bass that she got to weigh in.  All together I was able to catch 5 unders, 3 slots, and 2 overs.  We fished in Jeemes Bayou all morning in an area that Brad and I have done well in for the past couple of years.  I had caught a decent stringer there last Saturday, so Emily and I just stayed with it.  All but a couple fish came from 1 little group of trees.  Its a spot thats 2 feet deep with 5 trees and a clump of lily pads.  It drops off to 3 feet and there is 5 ft near by.

I didn't catch my 1st one until 0830, and it was the 4.5lb'r, caught on spinnerbait.  Caught one more keeper on spinnerbait.  Then we fished a 6in junebug worm with 1/8oz weight to finish out a limit.  At 11:45 I had about 8.5 lbs with one very small one that I hoped to cull.  We cranked up and stopped on a point just off the boat road that often produces a 4lb'r for me.  Sure enough, at straight up noon caught a 4lb'r on black/blue jig.  Weighed in at 12:30 with 11.8lbs.

Got lucky with the slot limit in getting the 2 overs.  I think we have 2 more slot lakes on the schedule, hope I didn't use up all my luck.  ~cf

I had a great time fishing with my Brother in Law. We caught over 20 fish. A bunch of them were slots and unders but I did manage two overs right at 18inches long. All of our fish came on single trees near deep water with shallow water close by. We found two schools of small fish and had fun working them with crankbaits. All the slots and overs were caught on Zoom Ole monsters in Junebug color.

Fishing is mental...I made a mental mistake on my way to my last spot. Instead of me catching a 4lber at noon Jeff caught it....It went through my mind to stop and fish the area where he caught it, but i didn't and passed it up...ughhhh! I saw him idling toward that area after I passed it up and starting kicking myself. ~b~

Hal,
We can't just post a change in the date of the next tournament and meeting without a club discussion.  This should have been brought up at last Thursday's meeting.  I personally can fish either day, but as John stated, some have already set work schedules according to the agreed upon date.  Also, many club members don't read this site.  How will they know about a proposed change?  We shouldn't change it if it will mean someone will not get to fish as planned.  If someone wishes to discuss a change, the time for that will be at our next scheduled meeting on August 30th.

If we thought it to be a bad idea to fish on labor day weekend that should have been handled in February when the schedule was set.

I agree with Jeff!

It's ok to change an event date at one of our club meetings. It's not ok to change a date without voting on it and giving everyone the opportunity to support or reject the decision. I will stand behind a decision that the club votes on, but if this decision keeps one person (John B.) from fishing then I think we should stick with our original schedule.

forget last post i did reg.sch. meeting aug 30 will talk about moving tournment then if voted on by club .
