518 deck extension

Anyone have or know of anyone that has a deck extension for sale for a 1998 518 SVS ? I wish I knew someone that had one , I could get pictures and dimensions from I'd try to build my own lol

Well I called Ranger today at work and

and behold they actually have em in stock for mine ! 2 styles a half deck and a whole deck with storage so I'll probably save up a few months and get one No where near as much as I thought either !

Get it by all means, Bigwrench. I was never happy with my boat until I got mine. The price must have came down, I paid $497.00 for mine back in 2000.

$154.78 for half deck and $290 for whole with storage. With $30-50 shipping she said talked to sherry

Mine has storage and came with the mounting hardware that is pretty neat but man I overpaid for that sucker. I've had it 12 years do you think it's too late to ask for a refund ?

I was really surprised at the cost to be honest , I would have guessed $600 or so . But wouldn't even have thought they would have one in stock . Maybe they just make them to order as needed from original specifications . Lol on the refund might be too late for sure !

It is a filler for the hole right in between the two rod lockers , makes the whole front of the boat from console forward one big flat casting deck. This space between my two lockers is what I want to fill in

Calling and ordering one today !!! Can't wait to get it on the boat ! I'm gonna see if they'll slap a Ranger carpet emblem on it too., have no idea how they attach

Well follow up report looks like I'm back to building it myself

called on lunch hour and told yes there are 2 versions of casting decks for my boat but when they put in the HIN they don't have one to fit my exact deck space . She said most likely because it was the special anniversary edition. I almost bought it anyways to see if it could be modified but then if it didn't work I couldn't sell it either lol. So I'm gonna build one or have one built so will need any and all detailed pictures of how you guys mount to your boat if you get time.

Well that sux'd. Are there any Ranger / Marine dealerships close to your place? You could go there and check to see if they have any boats with extensions in them. There isn't a lot to Pawpaw's deck extension I was looking at it the other day. Lots of storage space for sure and its nice having a "Full Deck" in front of the console.

We got a Ranger dealership near us. The next time up at Texas Boat world I'll see if they have any older model Rangers with Deck inserts. What model and year is your Ranger?

1998 Comanche 518 SVS it's the 30th anniversary edition I took a ton of pics of area tonight and also
Lots of measurements I though I'd try google sketch up to make a 3d drawing but ain't no way I'm gonna be able to figure that program out lol I have one dealer real close and one in Morristown Tn. about 2.5 hours away I never thought to check with them that's a great idea !!!

im new to owning a boat. got a 1988 373v ranger i like it and had heard about the extensions would any one know if they make them for older boats.

You'll need to call Ranger Boats up in Flippin Arkansas and talk with the Service Tech. Make sure you got your Hull Vin # with you.

I emailed Ranger customer service , received a reply back said that they have to make one but can do one for mine and to call parts dept back and ask for Scott Rector that he would be glad to help me out . So I'll give him a call first chance I get . Work is crazy right now with engine guy on vacation and transmission guy was in school 3 days this week ! TGIF tomorrow !

All in all very helpful so far will keep you guys updated as the search evolves Notice how the SVS left locker is slanted

Also told me I couldn't install a recessed trolling motor setup on the original call but I'm hoping it can be done

Ok ordered my deck extension today was told it takes about 3 weeks to make it and get it to my door. They don't offer my carpet color anymore so ordered it in a charcoal Also ordered another steering wheel center cap.

Thanks Donald ! I'm really excited although my better half doesn't know I put it on the CC yet lol. Since its gonna take 3 weeks I'll have time to get it on there

I told her I was gonna " call" about the missing center cap and then see about them making the deck extension

I did ask about the contents getting wet as everyone has told me it would , (there is supposedly no bottom on it just open to the boat floor ).has a front but about 1-2" above actual floor so water can get to front floor drain I suppose . And he said yes the contents will be damp if you get caught in a rain storm . So I am considering adding a bottom to it and sealing it off before I install it. And then I am gonna install a carpet emblem on the lid since it will be a different color I will keep ya posted and could use ideas on how to waterproof it too of you have any.
