Is it possible to tie a 1992 engine into a Gen 2 HDS5 and monitor your engine. I see these functions on my locator but I'm guessing newer boats are set up for it.

I'm not positive but a 92' may not have the ability to put out the data. The HDS uses what the motor tells it.

You may have to get with OMC and get more details about your motor. If it has the ability to serve the data the HDS should be able to use it?

Sorry Cliff, but your engine is not equipped to output data to HDS.

Todd,  I think the NMEA2k started on out board motors in 2006.

Pretty much what I suspected. Thanks for the input.
