Chris Penning

I just wanted to take the time to acknowledge someone I met on this forum.  After only chatting on this forum a couple of times, talking on the phone once about getting together to do some fishing, Ben Fishing, remembered that I said I was moving last weekend and calls me up to say "Hey, do you need some help this weekend".  I was shocked.  I've never met Ben in my life.  For him to take time out of his weekend as a stay at home dad to help me move says so much about the character of this man that I can't express how impressed I was.  Ben, thank you again.  You are a stand up fella and I'm proud to say I know you.

Regards,
Chris

That is absolutely awesome! Ben Fishing, you truly are a great guy, and Chris, thanks for telling us this.

Chris,
No problem man.  I had some free time and plenty of moving experience.  It was great to meet you and the other folks, and I made a couple of fishing buddies....and got free pizza.  Seems like a win to me.

Yes, that is a gator in my profile picture, but I was trying to catch a bass, so it counts!
One 3ft long, 10 pound "Largemouth" for me.

Damn, that's amazing.  Moving is not a fun task, for a guy to jump at the opportunity to help you is shocking...    :shocking:  Hats off to you BenFishing, that is very kind of you...   ~c~

This does show great character in someone!  Also, thanks for putting this out so everyone knows that this community is just that.... a community of our own and we will help others out if we can!

Another reason I helped.  How I grew up, fishermen were a community, willing to help when they could...hell, even when they couldn't.  To me, it's nothing special...just the way it's supposed to be.

And like I said before, met some good people, some other fishermen, and got some free food.  Chris is good people too!!!

Aslo, it goes the same in lines of you can tell who grew up in the country as compared to city folk!(not bashing here) Country people will give you the shirt off their back for any reason if you need it, while some city ppl will just say get your own!

Nice of you to mention this Chris.
BenFishing has had a life changing experience lately....remember his reel repair post experience???  He's like a born again bass fisherman now, after the treatment he must have undergone after meeting that man, and the nightmares that followed involving that poor Daiwa.   ~roflmao   J/K....you've always been a nice guy I'm sure.

Really nice of you to help dude!  Stand up guy you are.  Glad you decided to "stand down" involving your reel repair service guy, instead of giving that man an "attitude adjustment", and possibly injuring your casting hand.  Your story is still the best so far I've ever read on here....I'm still picturing that guys home/business/crackhouse for some weird reason....what a picture you painted. lo

Take the time to find the post from a month or so ago if your clueless on this post I referring to ~c~

Hahaha.  Just got that Daiwa back yesterday.  Sent it to Reel Perfection, over in Aberdeen.  He did a great job, and at a decent price!  Also, told me that the gears got worn down a bit...due to some other repair guy trying to force it and crank the reel anyways.  Once again, stay away from Townsend Express Reel & Pole.  Jerry from Reel Perfection said the reel is still probably 90-95% good.  I threw some line on it and was casting a half ounce wait around a field....still flies forever and is smooth, but I can feel that tiny difference between it and my other Daiwas.  Think it's gonna end up my striper reel for Liberty, and I'm sure it'll get plenty of use elsewhere!!!

I can also attest to the fact that Jerry at Reel Perfection is the guy when it comes to reel repair!  ~sun
