Hey guys,
Any of you have any info how I could apply to become a company rep? I'm very flexible with my schedule and travel friendly. I've been searching online trying to find info on becoming a rep and not finding much on the subject. Any help would be appreciated. I also live in the NE LA area.

Thanks!

Or if anyone has any contacts that would know how I could get in touch with someone/company that needs help? that would be great also.

Becoming a "Rep"? Are you looking to get into a distributorship? Sales Rep?

Most manufacturers, use distributors. One distributor may handle 30-40 lines of products. So that would be a matter of getting with your local tackle store and find out what distributor they use and then contacting that distributor and seeing if they need help.

That would be for the big gun, manufacturers.

For the smaller guys or companies that want to keep all doors open you can be a sales rep that travels and tries to move their product. However doing this for only one company means you're going to have to move a lot of product to even cover gas right now :shocking:

My thoughts would be to find several smaller companies to work with. A soft plastics company, a jig company, a spinnerbait company, and maybe a small distributor that deals in rods reels and line. This would give you the options to sell to a store front on just about anything. Meaning that every store you hit, one could expect to sell something.

Now if you're wanting to be a representative for say Strike King, research all you can about their baits, use them, know them, know everyone in the company before you approach them for a job. You have to have faith in the product, the company and yourself to hit up a major player.

I'm not sure what you're looking for but if you'll post back we can pick a direction and I'll help where I can. Rep for a company is a pretty wide open statement.
