Lightning Strike Claims the Life of Lorenzo Magdaleno, TBF Florida Member at Lake Okeechobee.  This is so sad and could be any of us.  Lets be praying for his friends and family.

This is getting repetitive. I know tournament directors will hold an event to let a storm pass. But once on the water it's up to the angler to clear the water when a dangerous storm comes about. Here locally we can duck into boat docks... I know that's not an option for everyone.

Prayers from Louisiana for his family, they have a tough time ahead.

Guys and gals...the storm does NOT have to be "over you" for you to get hit.  People are struck usually on the approach or passing of a storm.  Not to contradict you, Mr. Cork but, getting under a boathouse will only protect you from the rain.  You're still at risk of a strike but, your only saving grace if lightning hits where you are is that it passes around the cover and not through it.  I witnessed a man getting struck at a fish camp when I was 10 yrs. old and, it's made a lasting impression on me.  I get OFF the water anytime a storm is within sight and heading my way.  No bass is worth dieing for.
Retired after 34 yrs. with Jacksonville P.D.  Now I have time to hunt and fish!
